^^^agreed. if u want to play combo extended, play minds desire or Tooth and Nail. Desire is better, but very difficult to play. Tooth is easy, and id imagine pretty cheap to build since its parts are all mostly out of t2 rotation.

Proteus/Charbelcher decks were not viable in block or t2 by any means competitively, and they dont stand a chance with the much more competitive decks in ext. If u want to see improvement start with a new theme.

<sigh>
all my deck ideas suck...

guess I'll try sticking to my less lame Azusa deck...

oh man I'll never make a deck ...
I always tyr to make a fun and cool combo deck
but all suck.... and thats why im not buying the cards for them
I keep trying to improve them...
I improve and improve.... a new expansion comes out...
I need to improve other stuff... I put new cards in it
and I never get a deck...
am I seriously forced to eternely playtest decks on the computer and never get to play real life and take part in tournaments? Sad

Don’t sweat it dude, its really difficult to create a viable rogue deck, thats why there are so few. If rogue decks were easy to make, then they wouldn't be rouge decks. what i think is best when creating a deck is to look around and see what other are doing and try and improve apone ideas that are already floating around. As long as its not a copy/paste netdeck then whos to say its not your deck.

You also need to consider the environment, if you want to make an original/innovative deck you should probably start in a format that isnt so well defined(t2 is much less defined then ext right now) it’s a lot easier to create an original deck when there are not uberly dominate decks in the format that can crush you on turn 4, generally speaking the slower the format the more flexibility you have when creating a deck.

<sigh> oh man...

I made a combo deck in extended, my list is:

// Lands
4 [ON] Flooded Strand
4 [DS] Blinkmoth Nexus
6 [IN] Island (3)
6 [IN] Plains (3)
4 [9E] Adarkar Wastes

// Creatures
2 [DS] Darksteel Colossus

// Spells
4 [MR] Proteus Staff
2 [IN] Fact or Fiction
4 [8E] Wrath of God
4 [7E] Counterspell
4 [MR] Raise the Alarm
4 [MR] Chrome Mox
2 [MR] Fabricate
2 [8E] Mana Leak
4 [MR] Thirst for Knowledge
4 [RAV] Telling Time

// Sideboard
SB: 3 [7E] Disenchant
SB: 4 [DS] Ritual of Restoration
SB: 4 [CHK] Ghostly Prison
SB: 2 [9E] Quicksand
SB: 2 [SH] Mana Leak

Its a UW control deck with the proteus staff -> colossus as finisher. It does work well, cause the priority thing.
This means:
I have proteus but no critters on the table, then I activate staff. Then the opponent can respond to the effect, and then you. Then you respong changing blinkmoth or cast a raise. Now he can respond to this new effect, but he wont be able to stop the combo after that Very Happy

Any oppinions on this?
