Govern is better than confiscate because, its can not be morified etc once the creaure is stolen its prime targets will be Dragon legends, get better card analysis skills. Govern can still take guild creatures for an additional 2 mana.

I have tried to explain the art of balancing match ups. The deck has to be reevaluated taking into account the new cards given from dissension. The addition of condemn, improves both aggro and control macth ups and leaves you with too much pro active removal so some of it was cut, in order to allow for the addition on condemn. Govern is a win condition in itself so i infact run 6. I want to run as few win conditions as possible. This is a control deck. Now with Meloku, Windreaver and Govern the guildless, I have cards though few of, that are equal in power to the win conditions the other control decks are using. Angel, can be cut, once again thanks to the improvement of aggro matches due to condemn. Allowing me to concentrarte on improving weaker match ups by running more powerful winners that will not just get flattened by dragon stars. As the angel did.

The build you gave is so weak in creature power that it could almost never win a control mirror, 1 windreaver as your only serious threat. Firemane does not make the cut, vs any non aggro deck. The gain of condemn, makes it unnecessary. All together.

You will remeber the orignal list I piloted ran needle md.

arbiter is a bit counter-intuitive. his biggest problem is that he runs into your own wraths, which is why he is not included.

I agree Odds and Ends could be very powerful, though I have not had the oppertunity to test. It could well be a board option. Zoo very rarely extends much further than two craps at a time

I have not played Grand Arbiter Augustine at all. His ability would be best in a combo deck.

your not realistically gonna play him on turn 5 vs any deck so the earliest he can come down is turn 6 more likely turn 7 if you know he is gonna stick. By that time the mana reducal ability seems trivial, and the body as a winner, is competing with windreaver and meloku well trying to. Maybe he could be playable in some enduring ideal, dovescape deck. But this deck is not his place.

I very much wish that it was Mirroden that was the last block, it seems so much more syrnergystic with this block than Kamigawa...
all those juicy burn spells and fun blue spells
but most important

You could have been able to run 4x Isochron which would have brought a tear to my eye in this deck in T2 I think

which brings to my on topic point.... reasearch development(I thought about mirroden cause of the fact this card can go on scepter and you can be drawing 3 or puting 3 3/1s into play a turn for 2) seems like it might have potential also (although its unfortunate development isnt white instead of green) though the cc maybe its downfall

and also Guildmage is pretty awsome, SB at least I think

i run weirding in my urw control deck. it usually helps with control when you got firemane in the grave yard it is a nice lock so they cant draw cards. i think is the only way to run urw control.

I posted this deck on the forums about a month ago about time people clicked onto the fact that its good, Obvisouly agro based decks just get raped.

Here is the optimal list that has been tested and has been very solid.

1 Oboro, Palace in the Clouds
4 Island
1 Plains
2 Battlefield Forge
4 Adarkar Wastes
4 Shivan Reef
4 Sacred Foundry
4 Steam Vents
4 Jushi Apprentice
4 Firemane Angel
2 Shard Phoenix
4 Wrath of God
2 Compulsive Research
4 Cerebral Vortex
4 Electrolyze
4 Faith's Fetters
4 Hinder
4 Mana Leak

Keeping in mind how good the dekc is vs agro its almost imposible to win vs UR land d after testing that match up out multiple times I almost wanted to give up on this deck.

This is more of a metagame deck than anything, it will do good in an agro meta but not so good in a slow
control/ combo metagame.

yes this is good but it should be run with weirding

that list is running alot of poor cards, I find wildfire to be in your favour, results are out and the deck did pretty impresive over regionals. I find the wierding version weaker vs aggro, but it certainly can almost not lose a mirror vs the more pro active lists, as ive found out. I prefer a pure control list, with out any combo lock as I hate losing to turn 1 ape turn sideways for 4 5 turns. (combo lists running more card draw and wierding, are less able to have such an immediate impact on the game.) Comes down to play style i guess.

Its funny looking over this list, it needs to run at least 2 more lands, the mana is not good enough as it stands.

Rest looks pretty good, how much we all underrated remand hey.
