Instant - Common
Counter target spell.
This defines elegant and yes it would impact Modern a great deal. (A-)
Jester's Finger Trap 2
2, T, sacrifice a nontoken permanent : Gain control of target permanent until end of turn. Play this ability only as a sorcery.
The trick is to cut of your finger.
Nice entry, hard to judge this one, it is uber close to being broken - but the mechanics of it see it through. (B+)
Add R to your mana pool for each spell on the stack.
As Sarkhan encountered the great dragon, the native tribesman began their ritual.
Great mechanics on this one, scares me a lot, hate storm, love this.
The Mind Screw 4
Spells which have a colorless converted mana cost can not be played.
Am not sure this functions the way you want to, color does not enter into CMC, or (all CMC are colorless) thus this card has no effect or no spells can be played. ( ? )
Anthem of Persecution WB
Whenever a creature enters the battlefield under your control, choose target player. Creatures that player controls get +1/+1 or -1/-1 until end of turn.
Each recitation of the anthem may be different from the previous, but the results are one and the same.
Lovely entry, with tokens being insane as they stand, it is so close to broken - but it flies with me. (A-)
Explosive growth. Uncommon.
(RG) Sorcery. Deal 2 damamge to all creatures and players. Search your library for a basic land and put it into your hand.
Too high power level - it would be acceptable if it were 1RG but only just - also the basic land would need to be revealed and your library shuffled. ( ? )
Land Snag - 2UG
Instant - Uncommon
Counter target spell unless it's controller pays 2. Search your library for a land card and put it into your hand.
Wait while I get some more mana...
I can see this getting some play but not 'impacting' Modern in a significant way. (B)
Liliana's Persecution (B) Rare
All creatures get -1/-1.
When a creature dies, discard a card.
This is cool, hard to manage but powerful. Would this impact Modern? Yes it would, would it impact modern in your favor? Not sure. Very nice though - a magic card through and through. (A)
Paranormal Activity UB
Sorcery - Uncommon
Target player reveals his or her hand. You choose a nonland card from it. That player discards that card. Draw a card.
"Shh.... It was all just in your head... but not anymore."
Nonland Brainbite at UB and Uncommon, I like it, would impact Modern for sure. (A)
Unfog - G
Instant - Rare
Permanents and players can be the target as though they didn't have hexproof and shroud this turn. Damage can't be prevented this turn.
Wording is strange - but I see what you did here. Very interesting yet with sweepers abounding in Modern (Volcanic fallout, Damnation, All is Dust, etc, etc) cannot see it impacting the format very much. Nice creativity though!! (B+)
Fear of Minors 2BB
I like it a lot a lot! 1BB and you would’ve won this round. 2BB and you get third. (A)
Ethereal Snare enters the battlefield tapped.
T: Tap target creature.
"Tripping on thin air sounded way more fun at first."
Kaesh sublime, sublime. How I hate Emrakul, oh let me count the ways - Superb entry! (A+)
Tomb of the Eternal Void
You may treat face-up exiled cards you own as if they were in your graveyard.
The multiverse's final resting place.
Another brilliant and creative entry. But at its cost it is OP, Broken and IMBA - a graveyard toolbox/combo body 15 cards deep. ( ? )
Legendary Enchantment (Rare)
When Sealing Ritual enters the battlefield, choose graveyard or battlefield.
Other cards in the chosen zone gain hexproof.
Spells and abilities may not be played from chosen zone.
"Winter is coming."
This is beautiful - a card I can see being printed for sure and it would hit Modern hard - OP? Close, Close, Close!! But NO. (A+)
Logic Hole U
Counter target spell with converted mana cost of one or less.
Does this make sense to you? No? Excellent!
This is what Mental Misstep (still can't get over the irony of Mental Misstep being banned!!~~) should have been. Well done pseudo. (A)
Search your library for up to 3 cards and put them into your graveyard. Then shuffle your library.
In ancient civilizations, deaths were buried with their possessions, even the most valuable treasures, so they could buy their passages to the other world and pay for a good unlife. The reacher deaths were, the greatest treasures were entombed.
Great entry, I personally like this style of card - but the cheaper flashback cost makes this OP. ( ? )
Mana paracite UU
Enchantment - Rare
Whenever an opponent plays a spell with converted mana cost 2 or less tap target land. It does not untap during its controler's next untap phase.
"I heard there is something like a flu going around"
Very interesting, very very interesting!!~~ Powerful too. Could cause havoc - OP? NO. (A-)
BG - Rare
Creatures without activated abilities can't attack.
(B/G), Sacrifice a creature: Search your library or graveyard for a creature card with an activated ability and put that card into your hand. Shuffle your library.
"Planeswalkers would often call upon this ooze when facing a myriad of do-nothing creatures... It can stop a human sized insect in its tracks." Juq-Awa, Viridian Spellshaper
Strange but nice, flavorful but OP sorry. The tutor style ability is iMBA. ( ? )
Lightning Vortex RR
Enchantment - Mythic
R, Discard a card: Lightning Vortex deals 3 damage to target creature or player.
At the beginning of your end step, discard your hand.
I like this a lot, and it would definitely affect Modern. Seismic Assault decks would thrive on this. (A-)
Abyssal Whispers BB
Enchantment — Aura (Rare)
You control enchanted creature as long as you have more cards in hand than each opponent.
"The oldest and strongest emotion of mankind is fear, and the oldest and strongest kind of fear is fear of the unknown.
Great entry as usual Ikazuchi, but if control magic was reprinted it would impact Modern hard. This... This is OP. 1BB and I would understand, but BB sorry. ( ? )
***Winners are Kaesh, Kumagmd and Krabic.
There can be only one and kaesh won before me - soooo well done Kumagmd!!~~ Please post the next round asap.
