I have this Zombie list that I have been tuning for sometime now and I am having a conflict between two cards. The list is pretty straight forward BU Zombie list:

3 Cavern Of Souls
4 Darkslick Shores
4 Drowned Catacomb
11 Swamp

4 Blood Artist
4 Diregraf Capt.
4 Diregraf Ghoul
4 Geralf's Messenger
4 Gravecrawler
1 Grimgin Corpse-Born
4 Phantasmal Image

4 Geth's Verdict
1 Killing Wave
4 Mortarpod
4 Tragic Slip

SB is irrelevant in this discussion, but my conflict is between the 4 Pods or having 2 of the pods be Fume Spitters for tempo upset as well as a sac outlet for slip, plus synergy with the artist.

Spitters are good as tempo upset, blockers, Morbid triggers. But Pod is crucial to the late game win with Gravecrawler and Artist and if one pod gets countered/destroyed then I am left with only the one pod.

Any advice or help on this matter would be greatly appreciated

S.

BR Zombie > BU Zombie. Unfortunately a Delver meta makes Phantasmal Image quite necessary.

However -1 Mortarpod ; -1 Grimgin ; -1 Geth; +1 Killing Wave; +2 Highborn Ghoul

BR Zombies is good pretty much just for Bonfire but I find it doesn't have that great late game. Pretty much if you don't beat your opponent by turn 10 your probably not gonna win

This is true. But Red give you many more cards for sideboards than blue.

The second Killing wave is an option instead of the 4th Pod, but as for Grimgin trust when I said in this deck he is HOUSE!!! I have won quite a few games with him. That's what Zombies in general lacks is that late game bomb that changes the board, and with GG, Gravecrawler and Artist unless they can answer immediately, they are usually dead that turn or very least next...

As for the Highborns, I don't know if its just the meta where I am at but I never seem to get the impact or value out of that card that it should be....they just never seem that good for me where as Geth's verdict is always a solid card no matter the match up

Which cards are you referring to other then more Bonfires (lolz) and Pillar of Flames?

For more defense I would choose fume spiters over diregraf against 90% of the field. Hoses champs/birds/delver/vamp/artist from turn 1. Can chump and still get its affect in. And has good comboing with the messenger/ artist.
Mortapod is great to get into play early, but id much rather drop down a fume than a second mortapod. Perhaps go:
+4x fume
-1x mortapod
-4 diregraf
+1 hex parasite

Inmy experience 2x mortarpod and 2 fume spitter is an ok split.
If you go with pod buthcer ghoul might be a necessary evil

fume spitter is great, the problem with him is that he is a horror, not a zombie
