Hey guys, I was just wondering if it's possible to combine the sheer brute force of Kessig Wolf Run with infect to produce a faster Wolf Run Ramp. This is just a sketch, feel free to blast me for it
4 Glistener Elf
3 Phyrexian Hydra
3 Putrefax
4 Plague Myr
2 Viridian Corrupter
4 Rampant Growth
4 Sphere of the Suns
2 Swiftfoot Boots
1 Batterskull
2 Beast Within
3 Wild Hunger
3 Revenge of the Hunted
3 Kessig Wolf Run
4 Inkmoth Nexus
3 Mountain
15 Forest
Swiftfoot Boots
I think this card really helps infect creatures. Being weaker in build means they have to make up for it by being faster to land a hit. This means that any creature that I land without an answer can potentially get in lethal damage, especially with KWR on the battlefield. Besides, Swiftfoot Boots also provides hexproof, which is simply gravy against decks counting on spot removal (e.g. Vapor Snag, Doom Blade).
Wild Hunger
It can be very frustrating when my opponent blocks with a critter and then flickers it in response with Restoration Angel. This is my response. The first time it comes down, it should take the opponent by surprise (hopefully!) and subsequently it shuts down a lot of viable plays just by being in the graveyard. Combine with Swiftfoot Boots for a deadly one-two.
Revenge of the Hunted
Being in a ramp deck means that even if I get stuck with this in my opening hand, I have a much higher chance of hard-casting it. Being able to tilt my opponent with a top-decked miracle is a nice bonus.
Some concerns
As you can see I eschewed the core protection spells of Whipflare and Slagstorm for more speed. This means that now I am much more vulnerable to swarm decks. I'm thinking of cutting one of the big creatures (either the Hydra or Putrefax) and replacing it with Slagstorm/Whipflare, but I'm not sure if this is a wise move.
Secondly, besides Ancient Grudge, I'm not sure if it's okay to adopt the "conventional' WRR sideboard. Advice regarding this issue would be much appreciated.

That's all folks. Now blast away! |

You'd be better off with less expensive creatures, wouldn't you?
Putrefax seems awful.
What do you mean by "once more"? Does that mean that you've tried
the deck before? How did this deck manage to beat delver or counters? Normal ramp decks run into issues and they are seemingly better outfitted for the first games against the two mentioned items.
That's a lot of criticism straight out of the gates, but I don't understand the edge this deck should have. |

Well I figured that with the ramp I'm using I might actually hit my top-end faster than usual? The original Wolf Run Ramp aims to ramp up to Primeval Titan ASAP; I just have a different target to work towards to, that's all.
Actually yes I was considering some of the cheaper green infect critters, and then maybe I can put in Green Sun's Zenith as well. That's an option to consider too
I tried pairing Kessig Wolf Run with infect creatures before. That time I actually ran Postmortem Lunge as a two-of, so that I can bring back my dead creatures for one more hurrah.
Oh, and don't worry about the criticism, I'm fine with it as long as it's not useless "omgwtf this is a pile of s*** just run m0ar Prime Time" crap |

GSZ lets you get the most out of a single copy of Putrifax.
I've been enjoying Gu Defiant Infect on mtgo. How have things developed with this ramp infect deck though? |
