Note this submission is kind of lengthy, due to the fact that I decided to design my own mechanic, Timestone. Timestone, in the generic term, can be stated as follows
Timestone X -- During your upkeep put a timestone counter on ~. When there are X or more timestones on ~, it gains additional effects and abilities.
Phyrexian Sandstone 0
Legendary Artifact (mythic rare)
Timestone 6 -- During your upkeep put a timestone counter on Phyrexian Sandstone. When there are six or more timestones on Phyrexian Sandstone it becomes a 6/6 artifact creature with flying, firststrike, and trample.
The sandstones of ancient ruins... the calling cards of the old gods
Basically the mechanic is designed to capture the feeling of egypt as a whole... the longer something stay's buried... the more powerful it becomes. The above is my submission. But to get a greater feel for the mechanic as awhole I'm going to include some additional cards below.
King's Treasure Room U
Enchantment (uncommon)
Timestone 3 -- Sacrifice King's Treasure Room: Draw three cards then discard three cards at random.
Alakar, Keeper of the Timestones 1WW
Planeswalker -- Alakar (mythic rare)
[+2]: Put a Timestone counter on each permanent you control with Timestone.
[-2]: Return a card from your graveyard with Timestone to your hand
[-4]: You gain an emblem that says "Permanents you control have Timestone 3 -- This permanent is indestructible.

Jesus, the Son of God (2WW)
Planeswalker - Jesus
When Jesus, the Son of God leaves the battlefield, return it to play
transformed.
-1: Gain control of target creature.
-2: Creatures you control have islandwalk.
Loyalty 3
___________________________________________
Jesus Resurrected
-4: Destroy all permanents and return all creatures from the
graveyard to the battlefield, these creatures are Angels in addition to
their other creature types.
Loyalty 4
This is a transforming planeswalker like Garruk Relentless. Also the first abilities are Jesus turning people into Christians and the other is him walking on water, the ultimate on Resurrected is judgment day. This all happened on the Egyptian Peninsula, so I thought it fit. |

Faith views and questionable geography aside, that is simply one of the coolest cards I've ever seen. Only thought I have is removing the islandwalk and adding exiling of undead creatures (including Demons/Devils). Awesome man. |
