135 Modern

The rules for 135 on Magic-League are as follows:
Deck construction:

Decks consist of cards with a converted mana cost of one, three, or five (and basic lands). You can play cards with buyback as long as the original spell has a converted mana cost of one, three, or five. Concerning split cards, both sides of the card must meet the requirements. For X cards, X=0.

Banned Cards:
135 Modern uses the regular Modern banned list.
Play rules:
No special play rules apply

EVERYBODY hates the "basics only" rule yet we still continue to enforce it for why? Because a couple judges say "well it'd look too much like Modern."

Is that a bad thing? By nerfing our mana base, you stifle the creativity and fun out of this "fun" format for no good reason, anybody who agrees with this should voice their opinion here.

Well I'm not complaining because I haven't played 135 yet. Seems more fun then 23(7) though!

I completely forgot that there were Modern-legal cards with buyback. Silly Time Spiral block.

+1 for "basics only" rule being horrible.

I agree basics rule is crap and also surely 1 3 5 makes 1 mana accelerators 2 good even more so if your only allowed basics.
