Help me make this fun deck a bit more competitive! I have 2 versions so far, please take a look and comment.

classic ooze:

// Lands
8 [M12] Island
4 [M12] Swamp
4 [M12] Drowned Catacomb
4 [SOM] Darkslick Shores
4 [ISD] Nephalia Drownyard

// Creatures
4 [ISD] Civilized Scholar/Homicidal Brute
4 [SOM] Necrotic Ooze
4 [ISD] Bloodline Keeper/Lord of Lineage
4 [NPH] Trespassing Souleater
4 [M12] Merfolk Looter
4 [ISD] Grimgrin, Corpse-Born

// Spells
4 [ISD] Forbidden Alchemy
4 [NPH] Postmortem Lunge
4 [M12] Ponder

and oozepod:

// Lands
4 [SOM] Swamp
5 [SOM] Island
3 [M12] Dragonskull Summit
3 [ISD] Sulfur Falls
3 [M12] Drowned Catacomb
2 [ISD] Nephalia Drownyard
1 [SOM] Forest
1 [RAV] Mountain

// Creatures
1 [M12] Reassembling Skeleton
1 [M12] Crimson Mage
1 [ISD] Mindshrieker
4 [M12] Merfolk Looter
1 [NPH] Spellskite
1 [NPH] Priest of Urabrask
1 [NPH] Deceiver Exarch
1 [ISD] Civilized Scholar/Homicidal Brute
1 [NPH] Trespassing Souleater
1 [SOM] Palladium Myr
1 [ISD] Bloodline Keeper/Lord of Lineage
2 [SOM] Necrotic Ooze
1 [ISD] Olivia Voldaren
1 [ISD] Grimgrin, Corpse-Born
1 [SOM] Wurmcoil Engine
1 [SOM] Trinket Mage
1 [NPH] Hex Parasite
1 [SOM] Molten-Tail Masticore
1 [M12] Phantasmal Image
1 [M12] Manic Vandal

// Spells
2 [NPH] Postmortem Lunge
4 [MBS] Sphere of the Suns
4 [NPH] Birthing Pod
4 [ISD] Traveler's Amulet

In both cases the main strategy is to put grimgrin and bloodline keeper in graveyard, and get ooze on battelfield (with lunge for haste or not) and attack for a million damage (souleater gives unblockable if needed).

I know its very casual, but i hope with the next 2 sets we will get something to help the deck (like buried alive maybe? Smile ). Until then i'm working with what i got. First deck needs to get room for removals/counterspells, and second has serious manabase problems (pod costs too much life) and is much more random than the first. Maybe i should add more green, but then its getting too complicated.. i dont know.

As far as testing is concerned, first deck does well at game1 or when opp isn't playing nihil spellbomb main, and i haven't tried the second one very much. Any ideas are welcome Smile

Corpse Lunge is pretty awful in that deck or any other. Try Doom Blade instead. Also, adding Red and Green is pretty useless.

A good card to add would be Skythryx, for haste and regeneration.

haste is activated ability? why not mirror mad fantasm? and making it UG full combo? mulch, alchemy, splinterfright, birds, garruk veil cursed tutoring, looter, ghoulcaler bell, mindshrieker, dream twist, noxious revival + think twice to get lunge back... just an idea.
