Did you ever mess with sign in blood? target them with underworld dreams out and its 4 damage to the face for 2.

If you play black and red in t2, you play blightning no questions asked. doesn't even matter what the rest of the deck does.

but its not a great card in a deck where you give them extra cards, i'll gladly pitch 2 lands when i'm drawing 2 extra cards a turn.

Blightning is not even that good of a card by itself. The only reason it sees so much play is because of Bloodbraid Elf and cascade. How many other successful decks do you see running around playing four copies of Blightning and no cascade cards? Dedicated discard and that's it. Every other deck that has been tried without cascade has failed. It never even saw play until cascade was introduced in Alara Reborn.
