you should run kozeks predator growth spasm and the new green producing wall and make an eldrazi ramp deck its pretty easy and 7/7-9/9's with monument usually equals game

arid mesas are the new tech in t2, a dur. you can make sure your opps tectonic edges not go off by saccing the mesas without getting a land, -1 is a small price to pay. You can also trick your opponents that you are playing a good deck. This strategy is being implemented into more and more decks as we know. I could have sworn i saw a vampires deck running 4 of them to pretend they were the BR version. In the best case scenario, your opponent will pithing needle arid mesa g2 and you'll just smile while they have no clue what is going on. I am thinking of trying this strategy for myself.
sacrificing an arid mesa in response to tectonic edge wouldnt stop it

First thing, playing Arid Mesa in a deck with no plains or mountains just to prevent your deck from going to 4 lands so that the opponent cannot activate Tectonic Edge is a BAD BAD BAD strategy!

Secondly, you would WANT the opponent to lose one land and tap another in order to kill one of yours in the vague hope that it would do something usefu...

Oh... sarcasm.
