Just wanted to get your take if Anowon is playable in Vampire decks? I liek him but for 5 seems a bit bulky, although he does kill an opps dude on my upkeep, assuming my opp isnt uw control.

Malakir Bloodwitch and Mind Sludge are much stronger options for 5 mana

I play one in my Vamp deck, just one.
If I hit him, great, if not .. oh well.
Hes not a game winner, but he is a nice surprise.

The question nowadays is not whether to run Anowon or not, it is running vampires or not and the answer sadly is:NO!

I find that vampires actually has a lot better match up now vs the gortzen type jund builds... mainly because they have 0 md terminates

I put Anowon in my sideboard, for matchups not involving white.

Jund stomps Vamps because they aren't fast enough to get in before Jund starts cascading and they don't have card advantage/engines to push through after that like UW Control does.

So I said 'Screw Jund' and made a Vamp deck that stomps everything else.

I doubt it'll place in any large tournament simply because Jund overwhelmingly stomps this version, and Jund is still seeing lots of play...

I do not play Anowon.

Bloodwitch is a much stronger play for five mana all the time. If your opp runs no white, Anowon might come in off sideboard. That'd be the only time I could see it working.
