... and then your opponent killed your Baneslayer Angel and won the game.
There was much rejoicing.
Seriously man, so much removal and no threats? Sanguine Bond sucks, honestly.
Also Mycoid Shepherd, i think you might start crying when they PtE it for no lifegain.
Well, this one calls for... TEH NEED FER MOAR SCAWT MEWB. |

"Landfall - Whenever a land enters the battlefield under your control, you may have your life total become the number of charge counters on Eternity Vessel."
You don't gain life. I think I'm missing your point. |

If your life goes from 5 to 10 because of Vessel, you actually gained life
This is how it works. |

Except if it stayed at 10, nothing happens. He could burn you at eot and deal lethal. It is not a game-winning combo and should therefore not be regarded as such.
In general, I would say that a magic card does what it says it does - nothing more nothing less. So if Eternity Vessel does not use the words "gain life", then Sanguine Bond does not trigger. At least that is what I think.
I mean, some cards specify that "damage causes loss of life" - that means that if Eternity Vessel is going to work the way you think, it should have a paranthesis saying "setting a new life total in this way causes you to gain life".
Again, I would like a ruling on this. Not sure. |

It works
http://forums.mtgsalvation.com/showthread.php?p=4319948
"Eternity Vessel does work with Sanguine Bond. It's rule 215.5.
Quote:
215.5. If an effect sets a player's life total to a specific number, the player gains or loses the necessary amount of life to end up with the new total. " |
