One of the most important things about any Urza Tron deck is to get the full tron into play.
And, once in play, take full use of the GIGANTIC mana advantage that tron gives you.
You have the Ruins + Mindslaver combo to take advantage of the mana, but that combo is easily broken up. Most easily by being able to properly split a Gifts. If your Academy Ruins hits the bin, your deck is just cold. There is no reason for you to not be playing Life From the Loam.
Also, you have no other ways to seriously abuse all that extra mana (yes, you have titan, angel and trisky. imo, triskelavus seems superior to triskelion). Playing with tons of extra colorless mana, X spells of different varieties seem like a must.
Demonfire/Banefire as a finisher.
Mind Spring seems like a solid way to just power dig into mindslaver + ruins.
Mind Shatter seems pretty solid to dump the opp's hand. It would however, be more difficult to splash into the deck.
And finally, you have 1 good way to search for Tron lands. If tron decks dont get out the tron, they are just really bad, really slow versions of whatever color control decks. With green there are solid ways to search out lands. And, if you add life from the loam into the deck, gifts then becomes a legitimate way to assemble the tron.
In the realm of deck matchups however, the deck seems cold to aggro. Wall to block and firespouts? Both good anti aggro cards, but if you have this little resistance to creatures in the maindeck, the sideboard will definitely need more anti creature cards. |

| Sounds good. I hadn't even considered Life from the Loam yet, would it be more of a singleton card? And I tested against Zoo once and seemed to do well; Engineered Explosives seemed to do decently alongside Firespout, though it may have been draws that won me the games. I did, however, lose to BWG Doran, mostly due to treetop village, so I can see what you're saying about struggling to deal with creatures. What anti-creatures/aggro cards did you have in mind? |

| life from the loam would indeed be singleton, the whole idea being that you get academy ruins no matter how they split gifts. |

Exactly.
You Gifts for:
Life from the Loam
Academy Ruins
Crucible of Worlds
Mindslaver
With this, no matter how they split the gifts you have the combo.
Well, unless im missing something, you have no way to get R for firespout.
1 Steam Vents seems like a solid addition. |

| there's 1 steam vents. is crucible worth playing? aside from comboing with gifts, its not going to do much except maybe recur a fetchland one or two times. then again, i really havent played with it. |

Crucible is most definitely necessary.
A) Insures you get the ruins.
B) You can just dump a gifts after you have the slaver + ruins locked in to get 4 lands, 2 hit the bin and you get them back into play later. |

well. walls and spouts are good anti creature cards.
and, because of how the deck works, you dont actually have to deal with everything, you just have to get up to slaver + ruins and you win.
With loam now in the deck, it makes the acquiring of the pieces, easier and faster.
And with 3 different colors, eng explosives is a solid card for resisting aggro.
Aggro will still of course not be your best matchup, but, playing optimally you get that match right near 50/50.
At this point, its up to your individual testing. |

| i see no point in playing 1 crucible when loam does the same thing but better. u can gifts for loam 2 missing tron peices and ruins or slaver crucible has no use in any gifts split. i think you dont need that many fetch lands and should play a few painlands or something. platinum angel isnt that good. triskelion got worse with not dmg on the stack might want to try grim poppet. should try 1 eternal witness as a kinda regrowth in some gifts splits although GG is hard. add simic signet. remand condescend and spellburst are the counters you want to play in tron. might want to try a transformational sb with like goyfs and stags, it worked last time ug tron was good. tormods crypt is better in this deck than relic you can tutor it with tolaria west which should be a 2-3 of in the deck. you want a ghost quarter sb i think. |

| @ gypsy: i've seen triskelion be lackluster in testing, however, platinum angel should probably not be removed. she simply wins games unanswered. i guess i can see spell burst taking over spell snares somewhere, but it feels too slow on paper. possibly run them side for control matchups? and what does the transformational SB of goyfs and GSB help me beat? and ive conceded the fact that GG is impossible to consistently cast in this deck, so i'm wary of playing GSB. |

spell burst isnt for control matchups its to lock zoo and other combo decks out when u get tron online, goyfs in the board are for the zoo matchup so u have a huge blocker and then u threads their goyfs etc.
mindslaver and titan are probably just better than angel if they go unanswered you win anyway, angel just seems fragile and is just gonna be the target of all the removal spells they couldnt cast before. |
