We all know that Fetch lands are played in all legacy decks and that negates the effect of "Destroy target land" since they sac in resp.
That's why I play Root Maze , the fetch land doesn't look so pretty after all.
The deck is pretty straight forward.
Turn 1 root maze is the best play, turn 2 a mana guy, turn 3 destroy land or trinisphere.
Turn 4 Argothian wurm is game over because he's locked. |

He won't have an untapped land if root maze is in play. |

Fetches + Root Maze =/= combo; you should get rid of your own Fetches if you intend on making use out of Root Maze. Also, note that Root Maze is strict card disadvantage so you truly need some serious tempo effects to play a deck like this. You should first play Llanowar Wastes and Overgrown Tomb long before you should be adding fetches.
The tempo issue is further emphasized by you lacking free spells, something many of your potential adversaries might have access to. You really need to resolve your first spell; you seem to drop the match to a simple Daze or Force of Will. By the way, what's the reasoning of Argothian Wurm over Tarmogoyf? That's just dumb. Also, Slate of Ancestry is JANKY. And I'd definitely make room for some acceleration components such as Ancient Tomb, Elvish Spirit Guide and company. |
