Personally, i like to use these databases to help come up with deck ideas. Apprentice's search utilities seem much better suited for doing so. MWS search system makes it hard to find similar cards, or cards with specific effects.
For that reason, I feel its important to keep Apprentice up to date. That is, until MWS improves its search capabilities.
just food for thought. |

Also; just a thought;
Some people use these online programs to PLAY Magic. MWS is better for this, since people actually use it. So, if you play Magic to PLAY Magic, MWS is certainly the way to go.
But, if you play Magic to not play Magic, I'd go with Apprentice. |

I have always found that the deck building on apprentice was easier.
1. You can put notes in your deck, and separate the cards as you see fit.
2. On MWS, after filtering 5 times, you must reset the filter, kind of annoying.
3. The "Apprentice like" card filter on MWS isn't as convenient as the one on apprentice.
That being said MWS is still a far Superior program. Zvi once wrote an artical about the pros and cons, it is very good, its still on SCG's.

Zvi is one of the best writers imho, and this is a great article. |

| Although I loved the simplicity of Apprentice's search engine, I think Wizards new search engine easily replaces it. |
