Well, after the lorwyn block rotates, the time sieve combo will lose significant components, such as Cryptic, Pollen Lullaby, and Elsewhere Flask.
Cryptic can be replaced by another counter (though I think there will be no better counter in Zendikar), Pollen Lullaby is not such a big deal, as it can be replaced by Angelsong, but I don't see any replacement for flasks.

The question is:
Will the Time Sieve Combo deck survive post rotation?

I would be very happy if you answer! Very Happy

cryptic is one of the worst cards in teh deck.

angelsong is better than pollen lullaby. (or at least as good)

and while elsewhere flask goes... there are surely replacements and reasons to continue palying the deck...

4 kaleidestone instead of fewer
fabricate for more search
silence maindecked
other decks will get much worse (this is the biggest factor... i cannot think of a deck hurt less by the swap)
thopter foundry and glassdust hulk stable aggressive versions
zendikar will likely add to the deck

The deck NEEDS a way to get their creatures tapped, like Pollen Lullaby and Cryptic Command, because it WINS by attacking with all their artifacts... The guy who said Command was replaceable by some other counter is an idiot...

I said that Cryptic could be replaced, not WELL REPLACED.
I know, any card that replaces Cryptic won't do the job as well as that card.
Hopefully Zendikar will bring good counters...

Cryptic ISN'T FOR THE COUNTER!!!! It is used to TAP THEIR CREATURES SO YOU CAN ATTACK BACK WITH YOUR ARTIFACTS AFTER GOING ULTIMATE WITH TEZZERET....

Yeah, we'll find a COUNTERSPELL that can do that soon, huh?

no need to be so agressive and sarcastic, even if you know you're right.

without cryptic command you cant deal with meddling mages or pithing needle and you have less answers to hemorrage... and why you want fog effects without some aggro decks to hate?
for now the metagame post rotation has zero decks

Wouldn't it be better to wait for Zendicar before people start talking about decks post rotation?

as far as i can see this version runs neither CC or pollen lullaby ... does have sleep in SB.... so i dont think a MD way of tapping critters is needed

ok, thanks for your amazing insight. can you stop being an idiot now?

anyway, you can just replace the cryptic with something like wrath effects, which would essentially have the same effects minus the card draw/counter/bounce. cryptic is obviously irreplaceable in its current form, I don't really believe we'll see another counter/draw/bounce/tap spell soon, so stop whining about the deck needing cryptic and suggest replacements.

So we lose a fog effect, a fog effect that draws a card, and 2 mana catrip artifacts 5-8. Pollen lulz was good, but only sometimes better than a regular fog, easily replaced by angelsong. Cryptic comand is a card we wont (or shouldnt) see the likes of for some time, and cant be easily replaced. Elsewhere flask made the deck more consistant and was fodder for time sieve. Another card that isnt easily replaced. So thats essentially 8 slots to work with? Lets get to work.
