I have Putrid Leech in play.
I announce a cascade spell of cmc of > 4 and the cascade trigger resolves.
I hit Volcanic Fallout and choose to cast it. Do I have time anywhere to save my Putrid Leech or would I have to pump prior to announcing the cascade spell?
Thanks. |

| The cascade spell would then go on the stack (fallout) to be played and you could pump your leech then. This is the same time window in which if the spell was counterable, you would be able to counterspell it. |

| So I choose to play the Fallout and I pass priority? Or do I pump Leech before I pass priority? |

Pump Leech, and then pass priority. |

| The bloodbraid elf goes on the stack as does the cascade triggered ability, prioty passes when passed back the triggered ability of the cascade mechanic resolves revealing fallout which now also goes on the stack (at this point you have an oppertunity to pump in response to fallout going on stack) once priorty is passed you do not get another chance assuming your opponent has no response to pump the leech. |

| an active player can make as many instant speed actions as they want/can as long as they have priority. if you want to do 15 different abilities then you can. as soon as you pass priority you are relinquishing your chance at making a response. if THEY respond, then active player will receive priority and pass to non-active etc. |

You can respond to a Broodbraid Elf being played for instance, before they cascade, but once they do it and play the other spell, it's too late because they already played it. |

i thought cascade uses the stack and if so i can respond and play silence and he can't play the cascaded spell. |

| That's what i said, you can do that in response to the cascade trigger but only BEFORE it resolves, you can't do it after you see your opponent cascading to check if it's worth countering or not. |
