This isn't just a noob post. I never used to have a problem with Apprentice. However, after I got the Shards of Alara patch I couldn't upgrade anymore. I downloaded the Conflux patch and overwrote the stuff in my Program Files. No change.

Recently, I grew tired of this and tried to find the solution. I literally deleted everything except the Graphix folder and the exe file. The program still ran perfectly fine. Heck, it could even upload my decks (even though the folder had been emptied from my recycle bin).

Does anyone have a clue what could be happening? Most of my friends use Apprentice, so I'm loathe to switch to MWS.

Sorry, rent, but it's less worthwhile to have MWS. I can play with old cards right now. I can't play with anything with MWS.

How do you figure. Even IF you update Apprentice, you're not playing any games because the program is BASICALLY dead and obsolete. It is easier to update MWS, and you can actually play Magic.

Play with whom? Everyone here is under the impression that Apprentice is better than MWS. They're the only reason I ever played Magic to begin with. I'm also not looking for reasons why one is better than the other.

All I am saying is if you want to play games of Magic: The Gathering, you should get MWS. No one uses Apprentice... And for good reason.

kind of funny that this thread became Apprentice flame.. instead of actually trying to help him out. He even argued his case (that everyone in his area used apprentice) and you shut him down. Bad, ML players, Bad.

I'm sorry but I cannot help you as I do not know anything about apprentice.

Also, to all who say Apprentice is worthless, MWS and free online Magic would not be where they are today had it not been for Apprentice and the many leagues that came before this one and used it exclusively.

Bad analogy, MWS isn't that much more advanced that Apprentice, and in some ways it's more cumbersome. For non-tournament playtesting, Appr is fine.
