Legacy is not even close to being as expensive as T2.

Amen. In Legacy, once you buy your cards, you can use them forever (except in the very rare case a particular card is banned from Magic).

In T2, you buy your cards. Then a few months later you buy them again. And again. And again. And again. And again. And again. Repeat ad nauseum (except you're not allow to use the card 'Ad Nauseum', since it's rotated out Wink ).

People who think Legacy is more expensive than T2 are either brand new to the game or have a problem with simple math.

The problem arises when players need to buy T2 cards and then Legacy cards on top of it, that's the issue which makes them say it's expensive.

I know my playset of FoW's, Wastelands and stuff were expensive, but oh well, they always have a spot in Legacy decks.

I was a very happy camper when i knew Meddling Mage and Lightning Bolt were seeing reprints, though, it paid off a bit to get them when i only had Legacy in mind. Very Happy

1.5 is a skill format that requires a massive degree of knowledge to do well.

You need to know how numerous card interactions work and need to understand a metric fucktonne of archetypes if you want to try to go rogue or play a complex deck.

The idea of a great deal of knowledge being fundamental for 1.5 success is supported by the absurdly bland decks that are showcased from the 1.5 trials 90% of the time here.

Online is an okay place to test, but just find some friends that play it and play with them. To get the most enjoyment out of the format, you need to play IRL in my opinion.

Also, 1.5 is super-affordable to anyone that has a steady income and has played the game for a while, so they have a FEW staples already. The reason is that you get insane mileage out of the cards you do buy and the same is applicable for any post-goyf deck and even a few pre-goyf decks.

Luckily though, the format scares away many players that started relatively for the reasons above.

Legacy is basically everything that old 1.x and vintage used to be, which caused many people to like mtg.

There are not as many Legacy forums on the internet that have serious discussion on current decks, while T2 is seen all the time in current decks and many people play it at FNM's. mtgthesource.com is one of, if not the best Legacy forums. Also, when people are not limited by budget and don't know much about either format, I'd assume Vintage is more appealing because of the thought of using cards you can never afford.

One thing which helped me out is that they made a fetch for my deck. And they also made a fetch for my upcomming deck.

<==== Zoo Go r/w fetch Very Happy )
i traded 2 g/b to a friend and a few rares he wanted to have a set of 4 black/white and 4 green/black and 3 r/w

So i got to go spend some money on sink hole or work on my astral slide for legacy im bringing back my first T2 deck ever *sorry i love exalted angel* but im not sure if ill play it if baneslayer was pro black pro red i think it would be played well maybe eh prolly not...

It will be awhile till i get it worked out got to think of a build first.and i still need a few cards for my zoo side board.

I was at the Chicago GP and came in top 25 percent (not bad for barrowing dragon stompy and playing the format for the first time)

Legacy has too many cards in it, and despite that fact, everyone plays one or two net decks usually involving all the same cards... on MWS. So it gets REALLY BORING fast.

Well then, you have the advantage of knowing the 'metagame', all it takes is grab a good deck to win against them, or do your own.
