Call to Heel
--> Knight of the Skyward Eye
Resounding Scream
Naya Panorama

Goblin Deathraiders
Mosstodon
Dragon Fodder

The naya Battlemage is clearly the pick for us hear and one if not the most strongest card in the pack.
Pack 2 pick 2:
Magma Spray

Godtoucher
Cathartic Adept
Island (FOIL)
Lightning Talons
Shadowfeed
Waveskimmer Aven

Skeletal Kathari
Grixis Panorama
Obelisk of Bant
--> Wild Nacatl
Incurable Ogre

With the late cards we picked up pack 1 the plan now is definatly to go aggresive GWr my favourite arch type

Savage Hunger
--> Hissing Iguanar
Steelclad Serpent
Marble Chalice
Blightning

Grixis Panorama
Glaze Fiend

Its tough between this and the aestic but draws such as nactal 2 drop, excommunicate, excommunicate or bendiction are so hard to beat
Pack 2 pick 6:
Dregscape Zombie
Kederekt Creeper
Savage Hunger
Ridge Rannet
--> Akrasan Squire
Windwright Mage
Outrider of Jhess
Dawnray Archer
Scourge Devil

This is turning out very nicely
Pack 2 pick 7:
Savage Hunger
Steelclad Serpent
Marble Chalice
Resounding Roar
Soul's Grace
--> Mosstodon

Pack 2 pick 8:
Vectis Silencers
--> Welkin Guide
Excommunicate (FOIL)

Gustrider Exuberant
Swerve
Minion Reflector
Swamp
These are also very underrated i have lost count of the number of games they have won me.

Bone Saw
--> Gleam of Resistance
Nacatl Savage
Wandering Goblins
Brackwater Elemental
Suicidal Charge
Maniacal Rage
Fusion Elemental
Ignite Disorder
Dreadwing
Rakka Mar
Forest
Im not sure here but I felt i was going to have a hard time casting Rakka Mar I have next to no red and little fixing I would want to play, ruling him out for these reasons we can also rule out the ember weaver for lack of red creatures, leaving me first picking gleam again
Pack 3 pick 2:
Sedraxis Alchemist
Vedalken Outlander
Wild Leotau
Frontline Sage
--> Aven Squire
Rotting Rats
Goblin Outlander
Court Homunculus
Worldly Counsel
Knotvine Mystic
Dreadwing
Elder Mastery
Scepter of Fugue
Mountain
How much is the scepter woth should have rare drafted it, its a hard call between leotau and squire, but i want the deck as aggresive as possible and its for these reasons though squire is a weaker card that i made my pick
Pack 3 pick 3:
Gleam of Resistance
--> Wild Leotau
Frontline Sage
Pestilent Kathari
Tukatongue Thallid
Asha's Favor
Countersquall (FOIL)
Molten Frame
View from Above
Filigree Fracture
Sacellum Archers
Telemin Performance
Plains
Another hard decision, I do not think we need a second gleam the red splash seems more and more off ruling out sacellum also so wild leotau is this time the pick
Pack 3 pick 4:
Sylvan Bounty
--> Aven Squire
Pestilent Kathari
Dark Temper
Matca Rioters
Suicidal Charge
Constricting Tendrils
Court Homunculus
Nacatl Hunt-Pride
Shard Convergence

Plains
As i have no black and Im starting to collect a fair bit of exalted the squire it is
Pack 3 pick 5:
Vedalken Outlander
Dark Temper
Frontline Sage
--> Aven Squire
Rotting Rats
Court Homunculus
Worldly Counsel

Solid 2 drop
Pack 3 pick 7:
Wretched Banquet
Sylvan Bounty
--> Rhox Meditant
Brackwater Elemental
Exploding Borders
Maniacal Rage
Voices from the Void
Viashino Slaughtermaster
Forest
Not sure I will need it but hey
Pack 3 pick 8:
Wretched Banquet
Sylvan Bounty
Traumatic Visions
--> Might of Alara
Salvage Slasher
Brackwater Elemental
Maniacal Rage
Swamp
Nice I really wanted a combat trick and this was the last pack I could get one in
Pack 3 pick 9:
Bone Saw
Nacatl Savage
Wandering Goblins
Suicidal Charge
Maniacal Rage
--> Ignite Disorder
Forest
Pack 3 pick 10:
Frontline Sage
Rotting Rats
--> Goblin Outlander
Court Homunculus
Knotvine Mystic
Mountain
Pack 3 pick 11:
Asha's Favor
View from Above
Filigree Fracture
--> Sacellum Archers
Plains
Wow this card should never be this late
Pack 3 pick 12:
--> Sylvan Bounty
Constricting Tendrils
Shard Convergence
Plains
Pack 3 pick 13:
Rotting Rats
--> Worldly Counsel
Plains
Pack 3 pick 14:
--> Tukatongue Thallid
Mountain
Pack 3 pick 15:
--> Forest
The deck
1 might of alara
1 araskan squire
2 wild nactal
3 aven squire
1 knight of the skyward eye
1 steward of valeron
1 valeron outlander
2 excommunicate
1 guardian of araskan
1 manaplasm
1 naya battlemage
1 sacellum archers
1 angelic bendiction
1 rhox charger
1 wild leotau
1 gleam of resistance
1 mostodon
1 welkin guide
8 plains
8 forests
2 mounains
sb cards of note 1 jungle weaver, rhox mendiant, 1 angel song, druid of the anima, rake claw garanguatn, obelisk of naya, 1 hissing igunar, aven waveskimmer, bant charm
Really hard to build this so many options, I went for the most consistant looking build I did not play the druid as the deck did not feel like it wanted to ramp into anything as opposed to just curving out, could have gone bant also, but I really wanted full power nactals, plus the ability to use sacellum and naya to full potential.

| Man, playing guardians of akrasa over Hissing Iguanar makes no sense to me in an aggressive deck like yours. And I would have played Rakeclaw Gargantuan over Angelic Benediction. |

| I lost 2nd round to an ever better naya deck can not beat 3rd turn wolly throctar, the 18 lands was because I had no fixing and I felt the deck was good enough I could play the extra land, I really want as many mounatins as possible as they make my nactals alot better, it was still mana issues that cost me at least one game. There is no point in playing igunar ot rakeclaw garganutan if you can not play them I have 2 mountains, plus beenediction is just awsome in this sort of deck. |

| I understand that you had only 2 mountains, but with 18 lands in your deck, you would have been able to play at least 4 mountains imo. |

The first thing that struck me was your first two picks...two of your best cards and neither made your deck. You pulled a Jund bomb. If it were me I'd want to leave myself BR options for as long as possible. This is where you should be strongly considering those blightnings in p1p2 & p1p4. Take those and all the good BR is cut leaving you a good chance of getting some passed on pack 2. But you didn't, so let's move on.
I think you handicapped yourself by deciding you wanted WG weenies right after pulling that KotSE. By p1p7 there's no other reason to completely dismiss BR as you did by choosing the obelisk over the carrion thrash. A 4/4 that you're perfectly happy to trade is a good thing. Finally, by p2p6 you still haven't picked up anything that suggests primary white over white splash. At this point you've got a ton of green, the KotSE, a lovely iguanar, and 4 multi's that use red. You've got a GR deck with options for w&b. The squire is a massive attempt at changing directions, while the scourge devil fits nicely with what you already have--a good amount of medium sized creatures who could use a group pump.
Now, we walk into the conflux pack and you're forced to grab 3 aven squires to justify your unilateral decision on where your deck is going. Instead, try replacing the two picks I mentioned previously with the thrash & devil. Then take a second pass through pack 3.
Here's the base you would have going in:
Knight of the Skyward Eye
Welkin Guide
//
Wild Nacatl
Wild Nacatl
Druid of the Anima
Manaplasm
Naya Battlemage
Rhox Charger
Mosstodon
Jungle Weaver
//
Hissing Iguanar
Scourge Devil
//
Rip-Clan Crasher
Carrion Thrash
Rakeclaw Gargantuan
Broodmate Dragon
16 good playable creatures. Ideally you need fixing & removal. Fortunately, conflux is flooded with fixing & black removal. My quick pass through pack 3 pulls these:
Rakka Mar
Wild Leotau
Sacellum Archers
Shard Convergence
Dark Temper
Yoke of the Damned
Sylvan Bounty
Sylvan Bounty
Suicidal Charge
Goblin Outlander
???
Sylvan Bounty
Worldly Counsel
Tukatongue Thallid
Forest
11 of the first 12 fit beautifully into the deck (hard to judge the ???). You've got a decent RG base and flexibility in how much you want to lean w/b. Personally I would have prefered a fiery fall or 2 to all those bounties, but that's the nature of limited. |
