A good beatdown deck needs a way to survive mass removal which is rampant in this meta. Wrath of God, Volcanic Fallout, infest, firespout, and sometimes even pyroclasm. You want to have some gas left after these are cast. The problem with elves is that they are small so ANY mass removal will wipe the board clean. Some things to consider....

1. Add treetop villages. These let you attack even when you lose all your creatures

2. Coat of arms. Elves are good at making tokens. And coat of arms will make them big enough to be outside mass burn range. You still have problems with wrath of god. Consider Door of Destinies.

3. Go comboish and do the Heritage druid elf deck thing.

4. Splash black for Prowess of the fair. Get a token whenever an elf dies.

Hope that helps. G/B elves was a tier 1 archtype not too long ago. It wasn't elves based the same way your deck is. It's just a good collection of cards that happened to be elves. Colossus, nameless inversion, civic wayfinder, etc. plus some power spells like profane command.

Government intervention in the economy is inherently innefficient and counterproductive, and the best thing a government can do is guarantee rule of law and property rights, then sit back and let the market economy run unhindered.

Oh, you meant opinions about magic...
