Why isnt War Monk in the main, seems much better than Guardians.
Also look at the colour requirements for your two drops
WW or GU. Somethings gotta give here |

i think bant will be the rising force in block. The exalted feature makes it so dangerous.
But i really think you should wait for a conflux full spoiler until making any heavy decisions
but with that:
i think you need 4 main deck Rhox War Monks. a 3/4 with lifelink is abosutely house in block. It's good in every match up an should never be sided out.
I also think if you wanna keep your mana intensive creature (not number but different colors) yo are going to want atleast one fixer. take your pick.
When conflux is fully released i will be playing Bant also, but i will be going more control than anything |

Noble Heirach will make this deck even better, and go alongside the squire very nicely.
I wouldn't worry about the mana for the moment, there are some great multilands coming out. |

well i have the Guardians mosty for exalted AND for the ability to sacrifice (block big guys) since i dont wanna kill some of my other dudes and still dun wanna take dmg, i have the roxes in SB so i'll prolly try some games w/ rhoxes in MD and se how it goes, it all depends on meta.
and yes, noble hierarch will be a nice addition to this deck ) will prolly take 4 of those and insert instead of guardains or the angelic blessings.
im rly wanna see the whole conflux set |

ill put it simple.
if you dont run rhox war monk main deck. you should quit play this deck! its an absolute house and by far the best card in this deck (war monk then rafiq = good game...)
its the best card in bant.
after conflux u can play it t2
benediction isnt all that good...thats more of a sb card then war monk.
dont play a shitty dude just cause it has exalted.
conflux also brings removal in the form of path to exile (which can also double as a rampant growth for u if your dude is about to die!) |

I have been trying this version.
3 Arcane Sanctum
3 Island
7 Forest
8 Plains
4 Seaside Citadel
3 Qasali Ambusher
4 Oblivion Ring
4 Sigil Blessing
4 Rhox War Monk
3 Elspeth, Knight-Errant
4 Guardians of Akrasa
2 Knight-Captain of Eos
4 Sigiled Paladin
4 Akrasan Squire
3 Rafiq of the Many
Until conflux comes out im not going to build the sb.
I tried to fix the WW vs UWG (monk) mana base problem adding 3 arcane sanctum (another source of UW) sacrifing tempo for mana stability.
Still i think ill swap a forest for another island.
Ambsher is great combat trick as so is sigil blessing.
About not adding the bant charm i do think that o-ring is a better removal and is not as mana intensive as the charm. |

| yeah o-ring is less mana intensive but the charm can be useful in other ways too. charms have saved me more times than i can count |

this is my latest version of bant.
// Deck file for Magic Workstation (http://www.magicworkstation.com)
// NAME: Untitled Deck
// Lands
7 [ALA] Forest (1)
3 [CFX] Ancient Ziggurat
8 [ALA] Plains (1)
4 [ALA] Seaside Citadel
2 [ALA] Jungle Shrine
// Creatures
4 [ALA] Rhox War Monk
4 [ALA] Sigiled Paladin
3 [ALA] Rafiq of the Many
4 [CFX] Noble Hierarch
4 [CFX] Knight of the Reliquary
// Spells
4 [CFX] Path to Exile
3 [CFX] Banefire
4 [ALA] Oblivion Ring
4 [ALA] Bant Charm
2 [ALA] Excommunicate
// Sideboard
SB: 4 [CFX] Vedalken Outlander
SB: 4 [CFX] Filigree Fracture
SB: 4 [CFX] Mark of Asylum
SB: 3 [CFX] Celestial Purge
While testing i found out that the biggest problem of the deck is the exalted mechanism itself. Since youre atacking most times with one exalted creature it often gets blocked. And since the later game isnt that really good for this kind of game i changed it to a kind of control deck. Removing and bouncing potential blockers from play.
KoR is there for mana fixing and the bannefire is there for a finisher. |
