I was wondering if Astral Slide might be a good choice seeing that it it's an underdog and has maindeck g1 hosers that give you the absolute advantages in some matchups
Like every deck it hast he same matchups against the combo decks and all in red turn 1 deus decks, but like i said, so does everything else.

Please any comments on the decklist or your thoughts on Astral Slide in general for the current meta would be greatly appreciated. |

| And its plan against against fae is to resolve a 2 mana spell (in a deck with few, so they'll be eager to use snare) to get shusher, which can be killed be jitte and taken by threads, sower and shackles? Seems bad. |

actually if you knew the deck well enough it's matchup against faeries is pretty decent, seeing that slice n dice is a one sides wrath of god, except for the evermost annoying glen archmage 2/2, but im sure that'll be used on a lightning rift by that time...
only horrible matchup is elves going off turn 1-3 and u dont have a slice n dice or WOG on ur 3rd turn w/ sakura...oh yea, and all in red lol |

I have experience with Astral Slide in the current metagame, and one of the better cards against Elves is Pyrostatic Pillar. They can't afford to combo off, and a cycled Slice and Dice kills the majority of their army.
Slide basically can't win against Dredge. Sideboard hate is necessary.
The Faerie matchup is not as good as you think it is. Slice and Dice is strong, of course, but the Faerie deck can stop you from resolving a Lightning Rift, at which point it is simply not very easy to win. A better list would probably run more like the Mono-White control decks that are floating around these days, with 4 Eternal Dragon, 3-odd Decree of Justice, Wraths, Akroma's Vengeance, and maybe even the Martyr of Sands recursion engine. In fact, just play the white deck. It's better.
The matchup against Zoo is pretty decent, especially with RGW Slide with Loxodon Heirarch/Kitchen Finks (I prefer the latter) and Gilded Light, which also deals with several of the Elves kill conditions. Gilded Light is also a killing against the few burn decks that have been seeing play.
The All-in Red matchup is pretty much a coinflip no matter what you play. Condemn on the sideboard helps a lot. The only deck I know of that just flat out beats All-In Red is the white deck mentioned above.
Slide is a very fun deck to play and decent for sure, but I think there are better choices in the metagame. |

Ok so it's obvious that Slides worst matchups are indeed combo and dredge, and cloud isnt too great either, but i see the two decks on deckcheck.net have identical sideboards. However I was uncertain about some of the choices:
According to the deck mentioned in my above post, they sideboard 2x Angel's Grace, I was assuming that was against combo and elves and dredge for that matter, then untap and WOG on their turn. But I was thinking if the worst matchups were against combo + dredge maybe this sideboard would be appropriate:
1x Gaddock Teeg
1x Firespout
1x Harmonic Sliver
1x Loxodon Hierarch
1x Vexing Shusher
1x Fracturing Gust
1x Wheel of Sun & Moon
4x Pyrostatic Pillar
4x Tormod's Crypt
Any advice is well appreciated, thx - A |

so, due to my ignorance and thinking slice n dice is the win, i apologize to grardo and completely agree now, astral slide is horrible against faeries, just a simple shackles is enough to become annoying with slide, and rift never stays even if it does get thru counters...
so in conclusion, astral slide is not a good deck to play if ur meta is faeries lol |
