I'm looking at running a competition to see who has the strongest sealed play over a variety of formats. Mostly it will be a test of the traditional block formats, but there will also be some other formats, such as Triple chronicles or Triple Alpha and what not. I will run 1 tournament each day in the evening in Japan, with some days missed due to my schedule. Each participant in each tournament will earn some number of points. The players who
have gathered the most points at the end of all of the tournaments will be the winner. I am planning on there being
prizes, but what exactly those will be are still being worked out with the heads of magic-league.
Here is a list of the tournaments I am looking at running. Please let me know if you have any suggestions or additions you'd like. This is just a list of the tournaments, with no set order as of yet.
Tournaments:
Ice Age - Alliances - Coldsnap
Arabian Nights - Antiquities - Legends
Invasion - Planeshift - Apocalypse
Champions - Betrayers - Saviors (Kamigawa)
Fallen Empires - The Dark - Homelands
Revised - Revised - Revised
Chronicles - Chronicles - Chronicles
Mirrodin - Darksteel - Fifth Dawn
Ravnica - Guildpact - Dissension
Shadowmoor - Eventide - Eventide
Tempest - Stronghold - Exodus
4th - 5th - 6th
Time Spiral - Planar Chaos - Future Sight
Odyssey - Torment - Judgment
Onslaught - Legions - Scourge
Lorwyn - Morningtide-Morningtide
Mercadian Masques - Nemesis - Prophecy
7th - 8th - 9th
Portal 3K - Portal1 - Portal2
Mirage - Visions - Weatherlight
Starter 1999 - Starter 2000 - Starter 2000
Alpha - Alpha - Alpha
10th - Promo - Promo
Alara-Alara-Alara
Here is the scoring system I looking at using. Please let me know what you think of it:
6 points per win
4 x # of players points for 1st place
2 x # of players points for 2nd place
1 x # of players points for Semifinals
At this point I would like to start the competition on Monday January 19th. Please provide suggestions and comments, and hopefully we'll be able to have a good sealed competition. |

Note:
Portal and Chronicles don't work so those sets are being removed from the competition. |

| I'm in Japan, which is right now 14 hours ahead of New York and 17 hours ahead of Los Angeles. So they'd be early morning-morning in the states, and afternoon-evening in Europe. |

Lorwyn - Lorwyn - Morningtide
Shards - Shards - conflux
Shadowmoor - Shadowmoor - Eventide
This is more logical then the x-y-y drafts.
Remember the CS CS CS drafts . Multiple boosters from 1 small expansion is not fun to play with

Blancoke,
These are sealed tournaments, not drafts. Sealed usually uses Big-small-small pattern, unlike drafts. |
