you have nothing but the combo and its a pretty fragile combo, i would suggest adding another plan to the deck or play a lot of return cards like profane command/manique. or you will to often just die to 1-2 removal spells or counters. What do you do against pithing needle maindeck, i know its not that mutch played but still. I also think that if you realy want to go all in on the combo i would play souls fire, its just another rite of consumption, a bit more fragile to be fair, but its by far the best card you can get to combo but rite of consumption. i am also not sure if birds of paradise and llanowar elves is right, doesnt seem like you need a ton of mana. The more i think about an all in version the more i like it, maybe i will try such a deck.

| The point of birds/elves is to combo faster, I suppose. But I would really always want to have Druid in play first. |

i tested the deck a bit, i still would suggest profane command over mercy killing. And splashing red for souls fire isnt worth it. I also found out that the birds/llanowar dont do a hole lot, i would rather play something else, that geths the combo or buys you some time. I would suggest thinking about beseech the queen, should add some consitency to the deck, although it hurts when revealed via Ad nauseam , maybe as a 2 of. But i like the deck.

I would rather have Kitchen Finks than Mercy Killing. The chances are that when you play Nauseam, you would want as much life as you can get, and then you either get Rite, Druid and Spike or you don't. At that point, you would want to survive a turn so that you can combo.
Also, the key cards, Druid, Quillspike, Consumption and Ad Nauseam must all be 4-of.
You can make room by reducing the number of 1-drops and Mercy Killing. 8 isn't necessary. 6 is sufficient.
So -2 Llanowar Elves, -3 Mercy Killing
+1 Ad Nauseam, +4 Kitchen Finks |

i would actually cut the ad nauseams, and the mercy killings actually, i mean, yes, mercy killings gets u the 3 billion tokens, but still... its a lil costly, and u could have better stuff than that... so heres what i think myself:
-3 nauseams
-3 mercy killings
+4 finks
+2 chameleon collossus
And just think, if ur still running black, why not go with bitterblossom tokens? I mean, in almost any deck you can use them, especially if ur combo doesnt work... so u could cut the commune with natures for bitterblossoms... but i dont know if ur budgeted or not, so if so, keep the natures in there, or try gift of the gargantuan... it seems to help with 1 land and 1 creaure at least...
And for ur mana base?
its a descent mana base, id personally take out gilt leaf palace and put some vivids in, or just take it out and put more basics... ne ways...have at it! i had a quillspike deck myself, except it was naya collored... and it looked something like this:
Lands(25)
2x brushlands
2x karplusan forests
2x battlefield forge
3x jungle shrine
4x reflecting pool
6x forest
3x mountain
3x plains
Creatures(1
4x quillspike
4x devoted druid
4x birds of paradise
3x ci ci
3x kitchen finks
Spells(17)
2x garruk
4x souls fire
4x souls grace
2x primal command
3x snakeform
2x firespout
Sideboard(15)
3x gaddock teeg
3x gutteral response
3x oversoul of dusk
3x cloudthresher
3x naturalize
it did me really well, especially with a nuts draw, T3 win.. hehe:
Hand( souls grace(t3)/fire(t4), 3 mana, quillspike, devoted druid, birds of paradise)
T1- land, birds
T2- land, devoted
t3- land, quilspike, use combo, then a grace ftw!! hehe, 3 billion life...
and if that doesnt work, u always have backup with ci ci, finks, and garruk, not including the overruns and garruk tokens.. so its pretty well developed, and of course, oversoul is in side b/c of different matchups...
well, hope i helped a little! |

| sigh well if u do go that route u will lose alot more games just because there is so much hate against the combo all they have to do is counter take ur creature and do umpteen million things if u want a decent quillspike decklist use the one i gave its mor consistent better win condtions and runs like gb rock so u shouldnt have problems |
