so like i checked that stompy deck in that one trial and i thought about my favorite card intuition. and thought could be some fun synergy.... so i edited the list a little and well heres my first glance at it.

ok so there isn't any mox diamonds in my list. but thats cos im not gonna get my hands on em any time soon. so i threw in desperate rit's.
any advice. cos i kinda like the demigod synergy with the intuition. i dont even mind having to change to Bu or Ub. and its not like i have the best meta at my local tourneys cos we all kinda noob. |

Sorry but this list looks terrible.
Is the blue splash really worth it??? It seems to totally rape your mana base cause you arnt able to play city or tomb.
any why no challice/trinisphere??? those are fucking important key cards in stompy!
And for gods fucking sake add some raiders and pit dragon!!!
both are just infinitly better than thunderblust.

| ok so i like understand where you coming from with the trini's and chalices and also the fact that alot of things are better than thunderblust. but the actual idea i wanted was to abuse the fact that with intuition and demigod i can normally get like 3 demigods out on turn 3 or 4 (sometimes even turn 2). it seemed decent to me but i may be mistaken. also the chalices would end up putting my intuition idea to shame by countering it. but i guess that if im playing the intuiton play that i wont have the chalices in yet. also the fact that demigod just hits play even with counter spells, and it is a 5/4 flying haste creature, just makes it a beast. but i dunno abusing that fact could be a dumb idea, i'm really not that sure cos like i said i am a bit noob. |

I've never really thought of dragon stompy lists as being kickass individually. If one is kick ass, then they all are because as much as I enjoy playing the deck there is next to no deviation in lists.
That's an interesting sideboard though. No pyrokinesis is something I could live without, I guess.
Oh yeah, this thread is about some god-awful list with blue splashed...this just in: DS needs 3spheres and CoTV in order to be able to compete!
Try to learn stuff about a format before trying to make decks for it.
F for effort because you clearly have not read anything about the format other a vague recollection of the B&R list.
F for the deck because it is horrible. Maybe you would like to know why and to answer this, you will need to read about the format and get your ass handed to you when you play a pos like this deck against a serious 1.5 deck. I think that deck might actually lose to berserk stompy even(that's really bad).
Contrary to popular belief, 1.5 is not a bring-whatever-janky-homebrew-you-can-muster-with-a-few-power-cards format, it is a very diverse format with top decks that have extremely rigid structures. My previous statement about Lennin's [proper] DS list is an example of one of the decks that has the most rigid designs.
The first people to add Taurean Maulers to their decks were deemed lunatics by many supporters of DS and are still called such by some, despite the fact that maulers are one of the few deviations the deck will see in design.
The reason is because the deck needs to drop a chalice and 3sphere early and consistently to compete. Chalice protects your creatures from swords, keeps sensei's divining top of the table and disables a number of cards in extremely popular decks like threshthreshthresh as well as various combo decks. 3sphere shuts down combo and makes operating very clunky for most decks in a format that is based around efficiency. I'm not going to bother explaining moon effects because I will assume you understand them.
Contrary to what you may believe, raiders and pit dragons will end the game in a far more consistent/efficient fashion than some clunky intuition---->demigod combo does. The reason is partially because graveyard hate is commonplace in 1.5. Also, dragon is often enabled by raiders and will swing for the same and sometimes more than what three demigods will swing for as early as the second turn.
There; I basically summed-up why your deck is complete garbage and why. I managed to call you an idiot and be nice and explain to you why your deck doesn't work/why Dragon Stompy is an extremely difficult deck to change in overall design.
For further information on, refer to the manadrain or the source and refrain from posting until you have done some testing/net decking on your own and know something. Also please use the search button before asking a question about an established archetype.
Good luck on getting to know the coolest/best format there is right now. |
