First draft: The game plan is to mount a fast attack and keep some resiliency through Scarecrone and Masticore/Angel. I know Thrasher isn't an artifact creature.

Cards that will probably get changed: -2 Angel, -4 Mine, -2 Grace? +??

Needs some removal, suggestions welcome.

-4 Ethersworn Canonist

the deck isn't half bad.....

except howling mine.....no howling mine. It just doesn't really feed the deck here. it's card disadvantage since your opp. draws first, so unless you can Flash it into play somehow, I would cut the mines, and maybe toss in some courier's capsule (the blue artifact that draws cards)

I agree there should be something better to replace the mines, but they aren't that terrible with the Cannonist out since the opponent usually wants to use their removal on a bigger threat (plus I coulnd't think of anything better at the time). I think I might replace them with Courier's Capsules. The Angels are also nice, but I think I could find something better.

Since you are running a lot of artifacts, why not run sculpting steel? 3 cmc to make it into any artifact in play. Also, to get around the disadvantage of your opponent drawing first with mine, you could run icy manipulator. 4 mana to cast and with the sculptor it could theoretically cost less, plus it is a great way to tap down bigger threats.

Type 2, or "standard" as wizards are trying to make as conform to, rotates with the release of the fall set. When shards of alara comes in time spiral rotates out.

This deck is beastly. I would probably keep the angels, but you're right about the Howling Mines. Being in blue gives you a variety of card advantage that doesn't help your opponent too much. Also, please believe I will have plenty of artifact hate for you next time. Razz

Smash is also very good. Main deck Pithing Needle is really slick for artifact decks. Splashing white and black for disruption and removal is not out of the question. Thoughtsieze cuts hate cards and counters. O-Ring is the go to catch all card. Infest for the aggro matches.

Change Update:
-4 Howling Mine, -2 Oona's Grace
+4 Courier's Capsule, +2 Cryptic Command

Capsules work fine since this deck has so much extra mana that the activation cost doesn't really set me back much and it doesn't give the opponent cards.

Added 2 commands. Why draw a card for 3 when i get a counter/tap/bounce draw for one more U. Plus the tap really helps out if I need the alpha strike.

Masticore - Scarecrone engine is really fun btw. Very Happy

*edit*- I might try to find a spot for Scourglass for added fanciness.
