RFT format for the 10-23.IX Trials and Master

by Kaesh on 2012-09-09 16:52 CET
Since RTR won't likely get fully spoiled until just after the next master, I decided to squeeze a RFT master in. The RFT format will however allow you to get a taste of Ravnica and possibly the new Standard:

The Random Format Tournament for the 10-23.IX Trials and Master will be:
Magic 2013
Ravnica
Guildpact
Dissension
Innistrad
Dark Ascension
Avacyn Restored
Have fun and drive safely!

That's an interesting decision.

This is pretty cool!

by ShottyHorroh on 2012-09-09 18:11 CET

this will be fun

by Burton911 on 2012-09-09 18:32 CET

can we at least have m12 instead of m13 :/

by xHourglass on 2012-09-09 19:09 CET

This is actually really cool, great idea

by Steveman on 2012-09-09 19:23 CET

This hardly looks random

by pseudodespot on 2012-09-09 19:54 CET

Remotely forget trial seems like the translation of this. Seems nice though.

by StonerProud on 2012-09-10 12:18 CET

Gee, should we use ingenuity when making decks or should we just be lazy as hell and just netdeck after M-L decides to post decklists for tomorrow's trial? =/

Why call it an RFT when it really isnt one? >.> Mise well call it a RNT (Random Netdeck Tournament) >.>

Hemad

StonerProud: If all you are going to do is complain about every single thing that occurs on Magic-League, why don't you just leave? No one is forcing you to be here.

by megajenius on 2012-09-11 22:42 CET

Seems like an epic idea guys!

Always great fun and mental exercise to dive into a completely new format!

by StonerProud on 2012-09-12 11:20 CET

I wouldnt have to complain if the league would do things right the first time! I dont try to complain that much but when people decide to do incredibly stupid things and I point it out, they dont like it, take offense and retaliate! Since the trials arent the same for the same day, I doubt the decklists for a RFT wont be listed until after the tourney!

by Kabelis on 2012-09-12 16:29 CET

Don't really like that you're pushing it as RFT, when it obviously isn't one. Replacing new ravnica with the old one then pretending we're testing for new standard seems rather silly. Feels like a completely obsolete format and it doesn't even have a feel of a real RFT. Meh

Not only is nobody forcing StonerProud to be here, but nobody actually wants him here. Never, in the 7 years I have been a member on this site, have I seen somebody bitch so much about every little thing. Are you going for an award, or what? If you spent half as much time playing Magic as you do bitching about Magic-League, you might not be such a horrible player.

by jfc on 2012-09-12 21:51 CET

sick format! will be really fun

by StonerProud on 2012-09-13 15:16 CET

Horrible player? Like you have room to talk! >.> At least Ive made a top4 in a trial! Wheres your top4 rank, Circa? Oh right, you suck too much to be in one! O.o

Before opening that piehole of yours, you really should think first! Its not hard to do even with the limited brain compacity of yours! Enjoy!

by moscowdemon on 2012-09-15 15:17 CET

Actually, -circa- does have a top 4. Not sure if he has any in the archives though. Also, a trial top 4 is not a big deal right now. 3-0ing a tournament is sometimes all it takes. It isn't really sick brags to be like HEY I WON THREE MATCHES IN A ROW ONCE IN ONE TOURNAMENT AND YOU DIDN'T!
I've won trials and I don't think of it as a big deal. :/ I was excited when I top 4d my first trial, but that was an over 110 person trial and I was also brand new to competitive magic still.
tl;dr Don't try insulting people with information that isn't even solid ground. :/

Also, he has a point.
