Magic Workstation Walkthrough

Cool Options: Targetting and Assigning Damage

When you play a card with a target in Magic Workstation, you don't have to name the target, but you can drag the card to the target with the Right Mouse Button. This will have a red arrow pup up. This is a nice easy way to show what you target. To remove the last red arrow, you do: 'Alt + BackSpace'. To remove all red arrows, you do: 'Ctrl + BackSpace'.

When multiple creatures block an attacking creature, the attacker can hold the Ctrl key and then click on creatures, for each click, it will get 1 red damage counter. With this method you can specify how much damage you do to each creature. This is also handy with like a Violent Eruption. A Rightclick, while holding the Ctrl-key, will substract 1.

Super Handy: Copy/Paste cards into MWS

What is even cooler, is that you can just copy paste cards from anywhere into Magic Workstation. You do the following:

  • Create a new empty deck file ('File -> New Deck')
  • Browse to like an article of Magic4You.nu and SELECT all or a few cards from a decklist.
  • Copy them (Ctrl+C) to the clipboard.
  • Then in MWS Deck Editor you use the option: 'Tools -> Paste Deck From ClipBoard'.
  • Then you should see the copied cards in that window, if you don't, paste (Ctrl+V) it in this window.
  • Then click on 'Work with it' and the cards will be added to your decklist!
Deckbuilding was never this easy right?

Import Apprentice Decks

To import a deck from Apprentice you first have to save the decks in Apprentice Deck Editor as .txt. Then you can just open it with Magic Workstation. You still have to make the file end on .dec, otherwise MWS won't see it.

That was it for now. If you face any bugs or problems, you can write in the forums of . If you missed something in this Walkthrough, you can email info@Magic-League.com.

MWS Errors: There are several known errors that cause MWS to crash. To prevent these crashes, it is players should NOT touch any object that is on the opponent’s side of the field. With arrows, all players are required to drag an arrow to show the target of a spell/ability or declare the target in the chat window (one or the other, not both). Do not assume a card is being targeted; wait for targets to be declared before moving a card (even if there is only one legal target). For auras, if a player desires to enchant a permanent on the opponent’s board, once the spell resolves the person who played the aura should pass it over to the opponent’s side of the field. The opponent will then enchant the permanent with the aura. However, if the aura would cause the target to leave play, the players do not have to go through with the attaching process.
