Decks, that have caused banning's in recent times jund, treetop village, raging ravine, cawblade, celestial colonnade, affinity blinkmoth nexus, they all have lands that double as a threat.

GreenBear, the difference there is that they have creatures that can't be killed by sorceries. Hellion Crucible is worse than a Basic Mountain.

jud, wrong, it cant be killed by a sorcery the turn u use it. it is good in the deck, its ment as that last push you need to end the game not a consent source of damage. no it isnt worse then a basic mountain.

warwizard, I give you that the creature has haste. But how is that better than any other top decked haster? It is a land, but you can hardly ever use the colorless mana. It is essentially a creature that takes several turns to cast.

I can't get why Reanimator runs 4x Voice of Resurgence in SIDE? Why not maindeck at least 2, if not all? I know it is a metagame choice, but still.

It makes the deck more threat dense, whilst allowing you to play more mana sources at the same time. If mono red was not so colour intensive, playing 4 crucible would make the deck much better. As it is with reckoner, emissary and ash zealot I can see why only one is played.

Hellion Crucible does not hurt your mana base and adds a threat. I don't see why thats a bad thing.

Because people side pillar of flame now. If you can get past g1 without it then side in. Most people won't expect the number one card from dragon's maze. *number 1 played in states winning tops 8's from dragon's maze*

Top decking a haster is great. How many hasters do you play? one more haster is great. Is semi card advantage while still curving your land count.

it's not really a haster though -- because it takes 3 turns to cast

True jud, its a mana sink that turns into a threat. Best way to understand it is its a way of applying late game pressure ( or mid game since rdws late game is most decks midgame) and using every mana available every turn foe vertual card advantage, mike Flores discribed it as the plosophy of fire that who ever uses every mana every turn generates more real and or vertual card advantage.
