Winner! Great final match Sandoiche 3 close games. my SB was trash

Scuta, I love your deck. Was Glaring Spotlight useful at all?

What changes would you make to your deck?

by sandoiche on 2013-02-12 16:36 CET

Hehehe we had games two and three one-sided, but THAT game one...

Scuta managed to do 3 Thragtusks, 2 Centaur Healer and Restoration Angels for +24 life points and we were on the last turns with his life constantly threatened at around 9.

by Scuta04 on 2013-02-12 20:06 CET

glaring spotlight, ghost quarter, and merciless eviction were toss ins at the last minute cuz the others was all i had. I cut all but one merciless eviction for 3 rest in peace and 3 nighthawk

by Scuta04 on 2013-02-12 20:08 CET

and yea i think it was 11 or 12 life THAT game one after an obzedat.. all I know is my palms were shweaty after that match! Demon was definately Dwayne Johnson the final game

I wanted to work on a rock when GC came out but I got busy and lazy by then. Havent played a single tournament since then. I will take your deck as starting point Scuta04 and then see if I can create something else.

Funny how "The Rock" never had white in it originally. And "The Rock" was more of a toolbox deck with multiple answers to things and a few key kill conditions which was more often than not one creature or two at most. This version exhibits pretty much none of that. But still an interesting deck and it seemed to have done well obviously. So kudos.

by just2fierce on 2013-02-14 04:45 CET

why the centaur healer over vampire nighthawk. Seems like BB1 would be much easier on turn 3 than GW1?

by fenixmatt on 2013-02-14 13:42 CET

Nighthawk doesn't help you with more life if they just kill it and it never makes it to combat. Also you can't Restoration Angel it for more life. Does it have the potential to get you more life... in theory, but the decks you need it against, you need to have the life NOW.

by Scuta04 on 2013-02-18 15:57 CET

The Rock was named after the wrestler, thats it. Spiritmonger and Masticore were big creatures that were dwayne johnson. it had birds of paradise and yavimaya elder and wall of blossoms too.. so dont tell me there was no creatures in it. it was anything that would be techy and get you card advantage without actually drawing cards

by Scuta04 on 2013-02-18 15:58 CET

and you cant blink knighthawk with an angel for 3 more life

by Scuta04 on 2013-02-18 16:01 CET

lol and spike feeder.. damage stacking was his friend

by on 2013-02-23 11:31 CET

Scuta, that is just flat out wrong. The original "The Rock" deck was named "The Rock and his millions" by inventor Sol Malka. It revolved around the base of Phyrexian Plaguelord (The Rock) and Deranged Hermit (The Millions). The original Rock deck came out before Apocalypse was even released.
