no 4th?

by GunsAndDope on 2012-08-02 01:19 CET

When has there ever been a 4th on a trial?

by kane2 on 2012-08-02 01:21 CET

Who needs a 4th place? :P

by moscowdemon on 2012-08-02 01:26 CET

Every trial where there was not a bye in the semifinals.

by YiiiMTG on 2012-08-02 01:27 CET

Look Deck Section. There are some 4th place.

Well, i would need a 4th place cuz of the invite masters

by Tao on 2012-08-02 01:43 CET

You get 1 Bye if you make it to the semi finals.

by moscowdemon on 2012-08-02 01:44 CET

There are no byes for the invitational.

by pg8 on 2012-08-02 01:49 CET

Too bad Relic Warder isn't legendary.

by Duodax on 2012-08-02 03:04 CET

vs what are the gut shots? and why not horizon canopy x4?
and is there no better subsitute for avenger? dont like donks who just can swing

by bambamdoo on 2012-08-02 04:48 CET

im PO,d the last 2 people i lost to in top 8 won the trial and were already qualified -_-

by pg8 on 2012-08-02 04:49 CET

Horizon canopy x4 is bad because the life is actually relevant and it makes the deck much less resilient to other Wasteland decks (although they really should save them for Karakas). The deck is fairly mana-hungry and not aggressive enough to make 4 worth it. I like playing 2. The best alternative to Avenger is Jotun Grunt, and Avenger is just better most of the time, especially against creature decks. Evasive dorks replace reach.

by Duodax on 2012-08-02 05:17 CET

jotun grunt sux without fetch, isnt there something with cip effect or NON crappy hatebear like samurai pale curtain ethersworn cano and such crap?

by DonDiggy on 2012-08-02 08:08 CET

3/3 Flying Vigilance is crap? Fool. Avenger is DnT, no discussions.

Congratz to Kabelis for his win! However, Top3 looks reeaallly weird. Where are the Tier1's ? Canthresh, Maverick, ANT, Dredge, SNT? Cool :D

Ah yea, I almost forgot to say: Germany rapes Eternalmagic again: GP Ghent 2012. Eat that, slapnuts.

by Steveman on 2012-08-02 08:25 CET

Needs more NEVERMORE

by Duodax on 2012-08-02 08:27 CET

3 3 flying vigilance is crap yes. trades with 1 drops and gets ignored by combodecks.

by DonDiggy on 2012-08-02 10:47 CET

Duodax: Some Dudes get the job done, some would die for value. One solid dumb white Beatstick is just what DnT needs. Search for alternatives under this aspect. Figure? Way too mana intense. Finks? Too slow with CC3. Samurai, Abolisher, Canonist, xy: Random Hatebears without Evasion, already have tons of em. It finally comes down to Avenger.

by Kabelis on 2012-08-02 11:04 CET

Yeah, I haven't played too much legacy, but from my experience Avenger is really important.
There have been many game states where having a vigilant evasive beater allows to attack for 3 or 4 turns before opponent finds an answer.
With mom online, for example, merfolk couldn't attack with their multiple 3/3s for multiple turns.
Basically it allows to avoid board stalls and keep getting in damage.
Another situation was when I had relic against 2 goyfs and any other creature would force me to either hold my creature back, take damage from goyfs on the backswing or use my relic early, allowing graveyards to be rebuilt. In this case, opponent simply couldn't attack nor block.
It's obviously best in creature matchups, but if shines there.

ur all thrasing his deck but he won and u guys lost so be quite -__-

by Steveman on 2012-08-02 19:23 CET

Serra Avenger backed up with Morher of Runes is really fucking good

by mtgsoldier on 2012-08-02 21:19 CET

Legacy.SeriousBizness.lol

by pg8 on 2012-08-03 00:25 CET

SteveMan is right: Nevermore is great in Taxes. Definitely better than Gut Shot in this weird meta.
