Last Modern trial i lost vs Affinity with Tron Gr. Now i lost vs Affinity with Jund.
I even got this hand: 2 lands, 2 ancient grudge, 1 terminate, 1 bol, 1 bbe. Still lost.

R1: WU tempo. I won game 1 and we were in the middle of an intense game 2 (ninja of the deep hours put him up in the match, but he needed to face man lands...annddddd connection lost!) he had to go and conceeded.

R2: monored burn. sakura bloking, finks pumping life, rites Iona GG. 2-0

R3: bye

R4: tokens, G1 iona White 1-0. G2, iona white, oponent with no cards in and draws a zelous concript annnnnnnd its gone! 1-1. g2,finkes and man lands beatdown after tseize, inquisitions.

R5: RG tron. g1 he goes relic of progenitus early enough to kill my loam and ravens crime. g2 tseize and ravens crime and bribery into wurmcoil did the job. g3 intense match loam into ghost quarter was able to keep him away from tron then screw on 4 mana and GG. 2-1

Btw...for those who don't know!!! cause i'm tired of repeting it:

With gifts people can go for 0, 1 ,2,3 or 4 cards!!

Gifts umburial rites + Iona
GIfts Loam, ravens, urborg, ghost quarter

both actions are legal!!!!!

Another note...i played almost no serious match, either random deck or random player, almost no modern mini's in ML doesn't allow people to test! bah

What in the world is the BW tokens deck doing with 3x Zealous Conscripts main but only 3x Clifftop Retreat to cast it with (and no Blood Crypt/Sacred Foundry, which means it can't even tutor up a red source with Marsh Flats)?

4th pile is obv joke spectral ohnly 3x, only 6 discarder, crappy leyline, hero of bladehold and elspeth are both to slow only way to win is when he always has 2 souls and opp is not playing combo

G2: I didnt draw the zealous, I had it in hand the entire time! lol

Gifts rule is clearly wrong! The card clearly says search for 4 cards, not up to 4! Thats why WOTC added the words "Up to!" A single Tormod's Crypt/Relic of Progenitus wouldve screwed your deck! >.>

If the rule for gifts were true, then the card would be reiterated to "Search your library for up to 4 cards," since it doesnt, the rule shouldnt apply but stupid people become DCI judges! >.>

tks for the side note JPrik87. It's defenetly a nice deck to play with, but also tricky...and that mana base...GOD it's not easy to:

-have gifts turn 3 (5 acelerators);

-have enough lands to discard for ravens and compulsive (3 ravnica bounce lands)

-have enough man lands to consider that as the wining condition (5 man lands. creping tar pit as the planeswalker killer, wildwood as the faeiries stomper, colonade as "the awesome")

-not fail colors (fetch +duals)

-be able to have enough basics for sakura, opponents path , oponnents ghost quarter and eventually take only 1 damage from a fetch land .

-be able to have enough swamps to ravens crime for a lot in just 1 one turn (urborg)

-be able to have a land destruction cycle (ghost quarter)


Thats What the crazy mana base trys to DO! it's though!

when finding cards in a private zone (e.g. library), you don't have to find anything IF, and only if, the card choice is restricted in some way. This includes, among others, specific types, colors, or other characteristics - such as name, in the case of Gifts.

If you search for ANY card however, without any restriction, and you have enough cards left to search up, you have to do so.

That is why with Gifts, you can get anything from 0-4 cards, but with Intuition, you HAVE to get 3 (if you have 3 or more left in your library of course).
