Why are JTMS and Stoneforge not banned in block when they were banned in Standard?

In block swords and batterskull or in general strong equipements are not around, so SFM is fine.

And Block was not enough of a Format to really make a verdict for jace in this environment.

tough imo cards that are banned in any T2 should be banned in MYOS as well.

Burton, banning SFM+Jace is not necessary in MYOS. In Standard, those two cards were absolutely broken. (There were almost no decks to consistently win vs Cawblade. As far as i remember, only UGx Mill and Vampires). But in MYOS, they're in competition with a much more powerful pool. We're talking about a pool containing the P3 of old extended (BB, TS, CC). About a pool having great Controlhate (GSS, Boseiju, Shusher, Thrun). And not at least about a pool being capable to blow out Turn 4 Emrakul. You just cant compare Standard to MYOS, its pointless.

Tbh, tarat only won because of the low competition. Look at the terrible Decks on 2nd and 3rd. Where is UB Faeries, Mono Red, Jund etc? You couldve played it instead of crying for bans because a generic Cawblade-Deck went 1st in a not so relevant format.

the reason why i would ban T2-banned cards is that cards that banned in Block Formats are banned in MYOS. It seems inconsequent to leave the T2-banned cards imo. I have not sayed that i think they are too strong for modern either.

I don't get why you are complaining when you did not even play the last 2 MYOS trials. If you would play and you would get beaten by it constantly, I would be able to understand. But now youre just looking at lists and complaining without any reasonable arguements.

im not complaining, i just explained to sc4rs why SFM and Jace arent banned in Block.
Then DonDiggay accused me of yelling: "OMG BAN SFM & JACE lulz".
And i already said why i think T2-banned cards should be banned, in the previous post.

Again i NEVER said SFM and Jace are to broken for this format, and they are NOT the reason why i said T2-banned cards should be banned in MYOS!

I would have played but i had no time when the trial started.
It does not help when ppl play the likes of Faeries and CawBlade in what is a Fun Format imo tough :P (truth be told i only want a playground for Slide and Rockish decks, i dont mind the two AggroContorl decks in competetive Formats)

It differs for every person what is fun for them to play. I love to play faeries and get a great amount of fun out of it, a lot of people don't.

Only the Legacy banned list should apply. There's no reason why Thawing Glaciers, Lin Sivvi, or Rishadan Port need to be banned.

I played against Jund and UW deck that darkwizard played, and both decks were very good and games were close. It's not like you cant win with Stone-blade here.
Final here was like playing against sealed pool. Werewolfs, srsly? :P

I agree with Jacois on that. Using Legacy's banlist would be better since that's practically the pool you're getting access to, or well, you get to pick what parts of that pool to include. It makes more sense than to use the blocks' banlists.

Legacy bannings sound funny...It'd be 90% Affinity (Yay Artifact Lands!) and 10% Idiots who dont realize how broken Affinity was without bannings. Seriously, just keep the Block bannings and fine.

In addition to Block and Legacy bannings it seems only obvious that cards banned in Standard formats should be banned as well...Since you can "Make Your Own Standard" you can just create a banned deck from a format and win with it. Of course there could be a debate about the power creep but in the end the cards were banned for being part of the absolute dominant deck of that format.

Nuff said. Make your own Standard is not that format. And for the "just create a banned deck from a format and win with it": Like I said, besides Affinity (which is affected by block bannings) there is just no banned deck which could be even close to dominating MYOS, simply because of the pool size. Each deck has a wide range of competition, thats why no further bannings are needed.

It is not that strange that UW made top 8 with 3 decks/players. In total there were 9 UW decks, and only 3 UB faeries (my housemate and I were playing exact same list but he lost round 1 vs. RG wolf run). I didn't play vs. any of the UW decks unforunately and I think that I had a very good chance vs. them.

Also, their combined record is:
9 wins vs. 7 losses... soooo I don't see why you want to ban Jace/SFM

5-0/2-1/1-1/1-0/0-1/0-1/0-1/0-1 (1 URW variant but running Jace + SFM)

9 out of 26 players ran UW(r) so it kinda makes sense that 1 of them won (especially if you see the random trash lists =P)

The card pool might be greater but so are the restrictions on what sets you can put together. Zen + SOM giving you JTMS and SFM is giving you 2 of the most broken cards to ever see print in a deck with awesome synergy. You can't even begin to compare this format to legacy, which SFM and JTMS are both amazing in btw. Just look at the other 2 decks, if those can win a single game in this format then Caw-Blade is overpowered
