Anyone else notice a trend here?

Huh, Brainstorms without fetches? Meh. I guess they work with Mystics. I do prefer the Portents I ran in the last one tho.

what do halimar depths do without fetches? what do brainstorms do without fetches? what does kitesail apprentice do? what do you expect sword of war and peace to do? why would you play the prodigal sorcerer maindeck over disenchant? why play 2 tectonic edge and 3 jace?

props to jfc for his list.

Silverbullet: MD Disenchant is perfect in this format. Against any Blade-deck, you destroy their Batterskulls and Swords. Against Faeries you want Disenchant available for Bitterblossom. Against Hypergenesis, it blows up Sphinx among others allowing for stolen games. Basically every decent BYOB deck plays some artifacts or enchantments.

I hate blue and I hate this format. Prove me that any deck that doesn't play blue has a chance in it and maybe I'll consider playing...
by silverbullet on 2011-09-11 10:14 CET
oh yeah. ok then disenchant is fine. :)
by silverbullet on 2011-09-11 10:17 CET
and I chose Lorwyn mainly due to Spellstutter Sprite.
by surfacePymp on 2011-09-11 12:33 CET
This is actually sad.

The last time we played this format, Eldariel and I developed essentially the same deck seperately. The real reason he beat me in the mirror was the Zurn Spellcasters, so I felt like I really had to add them in there.

this deck has 3 equipments for kitesail apprentice, 2 of which you will seldom be equipping to him...and i dont see any situation in which you actively want war and peace.
by on 2011-09-11 17:16 CET
lol and you just had to let everyone know- so they can see what a fantastic and insightful deckbuilder you are
by jfc on 2011-09-11 17:28 CET
i told you xJudicatorx :/ your list is very very bad
by xJudicatorx on 2011-09-11 18:39 CET
@maps: you're not taking SFM into account there - I always have equipment to put on him. And sword of War and Peace is strong in any situation - either against control/combo where it gives huge life swings or against aggro where it gives me an indestructible blocker.

You played Zuran but no basilisk collar...and instead played 2 1/1s that do absolutely nothing...How can you claim your deck was built properly...
by GreenBear on 2011-09-11 19:17 CET
I think people are exaggerating but kite sail apprentice makes no sense at all, apostles blessing is also pretty random but the rest of the deck is fine.
by xJudicatorx on 2011-09-11 19:19 CET
I was only interested in killing 1/1's anyway, so the basilisk collar would have been meaningless. The Kitesail apprentices were pivotal in several games as evasive sword carriers.
by darkwizard42 on 2011-09-11 20:25 CET
You play a card that can tutor up Collar whenever you need it...its not like you were wasting 3-4 slots on collar
by GreenBear on 2011-09-11 21:22 CET
Sure who wants to kill good creatures 1/1's is where its at.

is trix playable?
