This is definitely one of the more...odd Top3s I've seen. I suppose that the lack of MYOS experience leads to a diverse field, which is good. Seeing both a UBR control list and Hypergenesis this high though is surprising, and a good merfolk list could've demolished all of the above decks.

by Eldariel on 2011-01-09 22:44 CET

Someone really needs to make a metagame breakdown for this. And that BBE Hypergenesis is just strange.

by EatsMortals on 2011-01-09 22:51 CET

that UBR deck wouldn't have been a good t2 deck, let alone a MYOS deck.

by Counterlife on 2011-01-09 22:52 CET

Obviously, most people skipped this for real formats/non-league stuff.

by wizmo on 2011-01-09 22:57 CET

so... force of will is alliances, not ice age, m11 or zen, i dont understand this format

by Tao on 2011-01-09 23:02 CET

i'm pretty sure mana leak and preordain aren't m10 legal...

by Nixus on 2011-01-09 23:06 CET

It's make your own set. alliances was ice age block. It's like standard, you take two blocks and one core set, except you get to choose here.

i'm pretty sure they meant m11, not m10.

by Pushover on 2011-01-10 00:08 CET

The way to get alliances is that there was a rule at some point that Ice Age block consisted of Ice Age, Alliances, and Coldsnap. That's the only way to access cards that came before blocks.

This format is Make your own Standard. Standard involves two blocks and a core set, so you choose what core set and two blocks you are going to make a deck out of. So if I wanted to make a Countertop list I would have to choose Ice Age block and Kamigawa Block, and then I could choose any core set from 4th and onward (U/R/B/A are not allowed for being too strong)

by Mizukage on 2011-01-10 04:47 CET

im disappointed ml...

by WeedSeed on 2011-01-10 13:25 CET

my side sucks...was setted only against aggro decks that's why i lose against control..so obv. And the top3 is not strange cuz is representive of the decks setted against goblins. I beated 2 gobbos and 1 monoblack aggro and i lost against the only control deck i found(1 bye).
so the Meta Breakdown is:

7 Goblin
2 Jund
1 RG Beats
1 WB Orzhov
1 WR Proclamation of rebirth
1 RB Kiln Fiend
1 Affinity
1 MonoR Burn
1 MonoB AggroPox
1 WGB Fauna shaman advantage
1 MonoB Vampires

CONTROL
4 UW control (1 top3)
3 Eldrazi green
1 Ubr superfriends control (top3)
1 MonoB control
1 Wildfire
1 UR tron
1 UB mill.deck
1 UWR FireControl

COMBO
2 Enduring Ideal
1 Hypergenesis (top3)
1 UB Helm Leyline
1 Ur turbofog

by Jacois on 2011-01-10 13:49 CET

R1 Enduring Ideal 2-0
R2 Goblins 2-0
R3 Goblins 2-0
R4 Helm of Obedience/leyline combo 2-1
R5 Bye
lose in finals 1-2

by Lynolf on 2011-01-10 14:58 CET

Sarkhan the Mad in a list with no creatures? Sounds interesting...

by Tao on 2011-01-10 15:15 CET

Just sac Jace to make dragons, no one will say anything

by darkwizard42 on 2011-01-10 15:37 CET

LOLOL wtf. bbe into Simian Spirit Guide?

Nice hypergenesis list fail

Also, UW control with 2 crystal ball...why not moar jace first...-___-

by WeedSeed on 2011-01-10 16:59 CET

@darkwizard: simian spirit guide isn't a problem we reveal first Violent Outburst or Demonic Dread EVERY TIMES and when i revealed first simian spirit guide i winned the same in some other ways (for example hardcasting broodmate dragon from hand or playing another one cascade effect spell)

by seedub on 2011-01-10 19:45 CET

first list needs more counterbalance and jace

by jfc on 2011-01-10 20:33 CET

rofl. 2 crystal ball, you didnt have better cards to put? :/ why not preordain? :(

by Halldir on 2011-01-11 00:54 CET

im kinda dissapointed that noone played rector/bargain/will combo... i was in need for studies on exam on uni so i didnt played this tour but i would deffinitly play bargain combo... it can quite easily kill in turn 3... as well as i excepted at least one replenish in t3

by WeedSeed on 2011-01-14 14:04 CET

@Halldir: fortunately for u, u was studying cuz if u had played u had lost for playing illegal card. bargain is banned in legacy so also in MYOS. rofl
