My sb was mainly white, while my main deck was blue heavy. so post board i ran the risk of hiccuping on white mana. Also I had 4 edges main which were little more than just a colorless source in 2 of my matches, so having the option of taking an edge out (sometimes 2) for one colored source (the color i had the risk of not not having enough of) seemed pretty good to me.

I heard Malakir Bloodwitch is shit -_-

Why does UB not perform well on mtgo, but outperforms UW here. I think the m-l block meta just sucks. No allies, etc.

by Plagueis1017 on 2010-04-07 18:16 CET

I feel like I had a pretty good match up against u/b control. My first round was vs u/b. The 11 counterspells, 4 DoJ, and 4 tectonic edges gave me a bit of an edge here. If i had gotten past vamps and into the finals I think there was a good chance I wouldve taken down the whole tourney. But this is just heresay. One thing I was terribly worried about was agressive allies, thus why I ran 4 DoJ, 4 arrow volley trap, 4 journey to nowhere, and 2 pitfall trap. But in all but the match against Nubby I played against blue based decks, so Im thinking my solid finish was due to my deck being more controlling than the other U/x decks. Oh and congrats to Nubby for winning the trial :)

vampires is a very good deck...except when the other best decks run a lot of removal and/or counterspells. Congrats on sneaking one for vampires, because this'll be the last time unless the volume increases a whole bunch because of this.
