What's with all these UB Control decks? Are they really that good? And can't we find a better name for them other than control decks? XD

by neckfire on 2010-03-30 22:24 CET

JOKER

by Conkisstador on 2010-03-30 23:14 CET

why woudlnt they be good? untargetable threats and every card is efficient. blue is by far the best card in the block.

by Pong_God on 2010-03-30 23:27 CET

Lol@ 2-4 thanks for the scoop in joker sorry i couldnt win it :/

Gratz to psycho though sick talus paladins!

by Psycho_sexy on 2010-03-30 23:31 CET

Ty !!

Allies is sick...in the whole tournament i didnt use any of the sb cards. Maybe becouse the sb is horrible xD

Akoum Battlesinger is the MVP

by Joker4515 on 2010-03-30 23:31 CET

My build is better in the UB matchup, but probably loses a little against allies. I beat UB 3 times, UW, and RDW. Sorin was the best addition to the deck, and leaving out tectonic edge was likely bad, but I couldn't see where to fit it in.

by OldBear on 2010-03-30 23:31 CET

It play's pilgrim's eye therefore it must be good.

by Demyo on 2010-03-30 23:51 CET

Allies was best choise because of many control decks and it has amazing matchup against UB control that become popular. GJ Psycho.

What's "control" about 2nd and 3rd? That they have some removal?

It's just midrange beats...

by Demyo on 2010-03-31 12:37 CET

If you think that 4 cancels make any deck control so be it..

You have early untargetable threat
You have many removal spells, then you have one of the best planeswalkers.
Rite of replication is OMG in the format.
And you have 6/6 flying for 4 and 5/5 flying shroud for 6. Well if you can't play around Day of Judgement play Cancel instead..

by AlexTrebek on 2010-04-05 09:09 CET

I like my "control" decks to be able to.. y'know, control something.

The only thing it controls is that you can't target a few of its creatures.

by Joker4515 on 2010-04-06 04:34 CET

My list has countrolling Planeswalkers, counters and removal. I would still label it Midrange, but calling it control is not a stretch.
