Steveman <3

by SteveMan on 2010-02-07 16:14 EDT

I lost game 3 of the finals because Meddling Mage naming Wrath of God > 3 Wrath of God in hand.

*Throws in Day of Judgement*

by neckfire on 2010-02-07 16:32 EDT

by Lynolf on 2010-02-07 17:08 EDT

Steveman: you only win with Elspeth?

by SteveMan on 2010-02-07 17:11 EDT

50% of the time, the other 50% my opponents just scoop :-P

by TugaChampion on 2010-02-07 17:11 EDT

DOminarian: that archetype is called fish. It doesn't actually need fish creatures...

by SilverSeraph on 2010-02-07 17:27 EDT

I didn't even attend the semifinals btw...eating dinner >> playing legacy.

by Eldariel on 2010-02-07 17:28 EDT

Tuga is right; Fish was originally just the Merfolk-deck, but now it's just as well 'Folk as Folkless tempo-decks of certain type.

by SteveMan on 2010-02-07 17:38 EDT

And technically my deck is Dutch Stax

by DH on 2010-02-08 06:55 EDT

SilverSeraph, you should have let me play instead. xD

by Djinn on 2010-02-08 07:12 EDT

SteveMan playing Dutch Stax? Weird :P

by mishimakaz on 2010-02-08 09:38 EDT

by darkwizard42 on 2010-02-08 10:39 EDT

12 Elf Lords...

makes my head hurt

by SteveMan on 2010-02-08 11:25 EDT

@ Djinn

I started tweaking with my list a bit. I wanted 3 O-Rings maindeck because they're amazing game 1 and are usually sided out games 2 and 3. With 3 O-Rings in my deck, my Wrath of God just felt like O-Ring 4-7, so I figured that I should swap Humility into the maindeck and Wrath of God in the sideboard because Humility acts more like a lock piece, which is more important, especially in game 1 where Humility really shines because pre-board, artifact / enchantment removal is non-existant.

So when I made the changes to my deck, I took a good luck at it and I was like "Uhh... I think I just turned my deck into Dutch Stax," which is a variant of Stax that the internet has abandoned. I took a look at the forums and my list is pretty much spot on, except I forsake manlands for more White mana. I think the weakness of Dutch Stax (players) was that their sideboards were TERRIBLE. They had subpar cards like Defense Grid (which does nothing) and and Tormod's Crypt (which this deck doesn't need at all because Moat / Humility / Chalice / Trinisphere so happen to already rape graveyard based strategies).

In short, I'm bringing Dutch Stax back

Bitches

by boeda on 2010-02-08 12:32 EDT

Lol! You give good arguments and a well written explanation of your decklist. But then you still feel the need to add 'Bitches'??!

I laughed my pants off!!

by boeda on 2010-02-08 12:32 EDT

Bitches!

by Conkisstador on 2010-02-08 12:50 EDT

i cannot imagine silver knight to be better than kor firewalker.

by Eldariel on 2010-02-08 13:12 EDT

Really? Seems pretty easy to me; Jitte+Silver Knight kicks ass on a whole different level than Jitte+Firewalker.

by SteveMan on 2010-02-08 18:39 EDT

Was WW even legal for this tournament?

by Spyx on 2010-02-08 19:44 EDT

Awful fish list is awful
