Too bad me and Malakai got paired vs Rath (we used the same deck). It's quite an unwinnable match, even tho I might have stole the match on game3 had I not mulled down to 5. However, grats to the winner :D

Go Sushigushi!

by Magno- on 2010-01-21 23:55 CET

The fact that it plays Mystical Teachings says enough. Deck is great :)
Great job @ winner.

I'm wondering how many Scapeshift decks have been played in this trial, because there are 5 Aggro versions in top 10

by GoneBananas on 2010-01-22 00:00 CET

same with me vs kromos he got the scapeing nuts the only game we played because it started early and i got a gl

by Malakai97 on 2010-01-22 00:04 CET

I had some amazing luck g3 against willier (sp), but he got game 1 off me being tardy since I was making food. It was delicious.

I only ever used the deck's sideboard twice, the second time being in the finals when it didn't matter anyway. It's almost certainly wrong.

Overall I enjoyed myself. It's nice playing a format where you only make a decision every turn or so.

i feel stupid for doubting that first place deck when I played against it yesterday. I think in the right hands any deck with that amount of a control element can win, but I just don't see how a deck with those kind of win conditions will do well in this current meta. Too many 1-for-1 trades in there as well (at least in the version I played against, which I'm pretty sure isnt the same).

I've already won vs rath with rg scapeshift but yesterday is too late for me and i'll drop :P

by Ludz on 2010-01-22 08:36 CET

Omg, meta is almost half combo! Amazing!

(That is counting all Scapeshift and the Thopter/Depths deck as combo)

by Holzi on 2010-01-22 10:14 CET

place 1 deck seems really bad^^ if a deck with teachings wins, i know that ML is getting down to its lowest level^^

by derflippi on 2010-01-22 10:50 CET

Like it did when Elves, Ideal or Dredge first showed up, yeah.

by Flash14 on 2010-01-22 11:17 CET

The first place deck looks realy fragiel at first glance but its realy not that bad. There are 2 versions of teachings at the moment but the uw list with finks seems to be the right one in the actuel metagame. Rath: how well the shackles played out in this deck? and why no one of shadow of doubt in a metagame full of scapeshift?

by TugaChampion on 2010-01-22 11:42 CET

Malakai97: you enjoyed yourself? That's nasty!

by Wichtelman on 2010-01-22 12:07 CET

i like that ^^

by wilier on 2010-01-22 12:16 CET

I played aggro scape too, but I can't understand how could this deck beat Tezz-thopter combo.
G1 im sure that is like 20 80 for tezz
Pos sb isnt easy too.

nhe

by DragonKid on 2010-01-22 14:39 CET

Its not, tez has to fight u on 2 fronts. It has to beat ur beats and ur combo. Its not easy for tez but they are fav I think. Not 80-20 tho

by GoneBananas on 2010-01-22 18:07 CET

its definately in aggro scapeshifts favor ive tested it alot, what happens is youll have a threat they will have to tap out to deal with or make guys to block and then you will scapehift and win so its almost impossible for them to win.
g2 is even harder with the sb bloodmotons molton rain and thoughthemorags

by RiQuSP on 2010-01-22 18:46 CET

You guys are kidding me right?

RIGHT?!?!

How does that deck win a trial.. rly =/

by Kev on 2010-01-22 20:19 CET

uhm, its actually quite good :/

i would actually play a chrome mox in there somewhere though. Jsut one

by Rath on 2010-01-22 20:21 CET

@flash14
The shackles were decent, they gave me time against decks when I need it and possibly another win condition. If you look at earlier version of my deck I had one shadow, but got cut for/something. If scapeshift stays strong, I may throw it back in.

And the matchup with rg shift is far from unlosable, kromos whooped me when we played.

by kburts on 2010-01-22 22:15 CET

yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeah! 6 hivemind decks :)

who played the spread 'em/what is the list, like is it the T2 version?!?!?

and now ppl are putting thopters in their DD's which i guess is good

by fritz87 on 2010-01-24 15:00 CET

Oh my god hive mind! At last, my collection/investment of over 40 hiveminds will pay off... they called me crazy! CRAZY! AHAHAHAHAHA! Now who is crazy o_0

by wilier on 2010-01-24 19:49 CET

Maybe im just playing the much up wrong :(

by Mykrob56 on 2010-01-25 18:52 CET

That teachings list looks petty stable vs zoo. A lot of the older lists were cold to a t1 nacatl.
