eventually you have emeria with martyr for lots of life every turn, or a boardwipe every turn with kagemaro.
then a planeswalker kills you or you get decked thanks to mistveil plains.

You don't win by decking, you win with planeswalkers after gaining massive card advantage through the arenas and a ton of life with martyrs. It is also surprising how effective martyr beats are (thanks to opposing shock/fetchlands).

The final was one of the most interesting matches I've had for ages. G1 I thought was looking good when i wrathed (against what I thought was zoo) and then castigated, only to see 2 scapeshifts in hand with enough land in play.

G2 looked all over after he slowly beat down through my prisons, but in response to a lethal scapeshift I ghost quartered a sacred foundry and extirpated it, leaving qamiqaze with only 1 mountain left in deck. I then top decked a wrath to clear the board and went on to recover after getting eventually getting the final plains required to trigger my triple emerias.

G3 saw the beats coming in and uncastable black cards in hand making my martyrs useless, top decked a wrath for 2 goyfs when on 3 life, but qamiqaze then trumped my top deck with a top decked helix.

Qamiqaze why scalding tarn over verdant catacombs/marshflats? I got a list similar to that.

I just don't like your mana base it's kind of eww. blood moon is a gg.

8 mountain cards in the deck means if you want to valakut scapeshift you can't draw 4 of them. Well I guess you could just play scalding tarn and not use it and sac it to scapeshift with 6 lands and valakut someone for 15.

chalice of the void and canonist is interesting.

how strong is plated geopede? because my list differs in that I run Qasali x3. with an extra lightning helix.

i run less land too. Ghost quarter mainddeck depends on how much dark depth action will occur. I can see scapeshift into ghost quarter...but you can't use it till the next untap. so it's kind of rough...

the more bloodmoon i see the more I appreciate having 2 forest 1 plain around.

@dwarfas - to be honest I haven't really tested much yet, so sideboard is conleys woods from austin, just bitterblossom instead of sacred mesa. I was playing a very similar deck (but without planeswalkers) before austin and wanted to try this one out.

qamiqaze's list is suboptimal. > though to answer some questions... 8 lands in play even if 4 are mountains... sac some get 2 valakuts and rest of mountains and hit for X*6.

plated geopede is a 5/5. how do you need to HEAR that it's strong?

what about combining hex/depths with scepter/sword? i feel like thopter should just be 2 slots in PVs list and be a better deck.
