I'd like to add that noobburn is the luckiest guy in the league. G1 I don't see a Nimble Mongoose through half the library and G2 I've got some 20 turns to draw a Krosan Grip/Rushing River/Bolt (2 left)/Fire (1 left) and they're all in the bottom 7 cards of my library. How special.

I'm willing to bet his other wins involved similarly horrible draws on his opponents' part.

Use player skill 5%

And USE LUCK 120%

by Hank333 on 2009-10-04 15:03 EST

Eldariel do you always need to cry when you are not first place? Haven't you won enough ML trials?

by Shagrath on 2009-10-04 15:05 EST

Luck has a role in this game, if any1 isnt fine with it, chess is their game to play.
Im pretty sure that u had games that u won by luck, so why bitching when u lose because of it?

by Dr_Nico on 2009-10-04 15:24 EST

Why 7 fetch and 7 duals, it doesn't feel as right as 6 fetch 8 duals.

by Trotsky1 on 2009-10-04 15:39 EST

Wolcanic island!

by Duodax on 2009-10-04 15:51 EST

luck negators... i HATE and will BUST you!

noobburn is right.

by Shooter on 2009-10-04 15:54 EST

lol white

by Eldariel on 2009-10-04 16:10 EST

Hank333: I don't mind losing; I just prefer to lose to players who don't make two-three mistakes a turn.

I'll gladly lose when opponent outplays me or plays as well as me or even doesn't make any blatant mistakes, but when I lose to a series of extremely improbable draws when I'm playing much more solidly than my opponent, yeah, it does vex me.

by tytoso on 2009-10-04 16:14 EST

Eldariel i have a word for you :O

Humility

by IstvanTM on 2009-10-04 16:18 EST

gj top4

is reanimator a tier 1 deck?

by Spyx on 2009-10-04 16:19 EST

wolcanic island is tech.

That white control deck looks like a horrible matchup for tempo tbh.
Can't waste much and your stifles are dead. Moat, humility, circle and halo are all must counters. Relic makes your guys small, baneslayer races you.

That list needs some elspeth's though.

by Eldariel on 2009-10-04 16:31 EST

Spyx: Stifles hit E. Dragon; that tends to be enough (they also deal with Relic of Progenitus's second ability, O-Ring and some more fringe uses). Though Wastes are annoyingly enough quite dead.

Halo is easy enough to deal with (thanks to Spell Snare) and Moat, Humility and Circle are all 1-ofs, so 3 must-counters; given I have the better draw engine, that shouldn't be difficult. Of course, they aren't really must counters per ce; they can be bounced much to the same effect.

If it was a real Quinn-list, I'd agree that it would be a bad MU, but as it stands, all it takes is an early Mongoose to go all the way.

gj capoeira02

by Qamiqaze on 2009-10-04 18:10 EST

good shit eldariel

by Desensitizer on 2009-10-04 19:37 EST

I can look at the decklists alone and tell you that noobburn is ridiculously lucky, regardless of how many players were involved or the skills of the players involved.

by TugaChampion on 2009-10-04 19:41 EST

I have to agree with Eldariel. I obv know luck is part of the game and that sometimes you win or lose because of luck "but when I lose to a series of extremely improbable draws when I'm playing much more solidly than my opponent" I can't stand it. Even knowing everyone will mock me for whining it's stronger than me and I really need to whine about it.

So give Eldariel a break because many who always mock whiners also whine or at least feel like whining but don't do it because they're afraid of getting mocked.

by thlanza on 2009-10-04 21:37 EST

if you lost, be a good loser.
=p
Humility is a virtue that I don't see here...

by Spyx on 2009-10-04 22:23 EST

I suppose it's winnable for tempo tresh but it wouldn't be easy.

Also I would not run verdant catacombs in eva green if you don't play a forest. Delta fetches the same things and can bluff a splash or even ANT if you go delta -> swamp -> duress.

by DaveK on 2009-10-04 22:30 EST

QQ about luck is the most idiotic thing in magic-league

Except maybe christpunchr and duodax

by DOminarian on 2009-10-05 00:04 EST

Eldariel LOOSER muahaha

by DH on 2009-10-05 11:29 EST

noobburn I'm happy for you and imma let you finish but Eldariel should have won

by mchosa on 2009-10-05 13:56 EST

QQ

by SteveMan on 2009-10-05 15:29 EST

The fact that Snow White won a trial is proof that there are no competent players playing decent combo decks.

by center on 2009-10-05 17:32 EST

wtf why all the hate for Eldariel?

He is one of the better players here and a pretty nice guy. You guys should stop hating and start learning >_>

Also, Humility isn't a good trait.
