by [BRAYAN] on 2009-06-26 18:47 EDT

kithkin! rules!

by bagina on 2009-06-26 19:05 EDT

in g1 it looked like vascri was playing kithkins so i sided out evacuation in favor of volcanic fallout. g2 he dropped 2 spectrals with a 3rd tucked under windbrisk, a forgetender and then a zealous persecution. shame too because i really liked my list as did most of my opponents.

grats on winning though. funny how the top 3 is all tokens/weenies. i guess everyone forgot about these after a few trials of cascade/control.

by curly on 2009-06-26 22:46 EDT

Andre second pssh LOL tokens need to go die in a fire.

by Delicious on 2009-06-26 23:54 EDT

@bagina: If you thought they were playing kithkins, why did you side evac out? I would have done -4 rain of tears +4 fall out

and what deck did you sideboard dragon's claw in for? Very interesting deck, would love to know more

by bagina on 2009-06-27 01:25 EDT

siding out 4 rain of tears would leave me with 4 less turn 3 optons so slow him down. ive been playing this deck for a while and it works by slowing them until i can play a slithermuse or identity crisis. most bouncedecks run out of steam but those 2 cardsfix this problem. i figured by siding out evac and adding fallout, id increase the speed of my deck, and also have a godo chance at wiping his board by turn 3 or 4.

dragons claw comes in handy vs janky red burn decks, and some jund/naya decks. its just an early drop to survive another turn or two before i can cast primal, deny reality, evac, etc.

its one of my fav decks. need to find aslot for ceph constable, probably justas a one-of with maybe 1-2 in sb.

try the deck, its alot of fun.

by Delicious on 2009-06-27 02:41 EDT

Bagina, i want to give my appologies now.

I tested the deck and now i know why you don't side out rains. The mana denial stage of this deck is so strong and i thought the 1 off sphinx was weird, but with drawing into it and having primal i see it alot. Most games have just been quits. With all the bouncing and land killing, it's very strong.

I have thought about getting 2-3 broodmate dragons in the deck. I think it would be a nice win condition in the end.

by Eldariel on 2009-06-27 06:28 EDT

Bagina: All Kithkin-decks play 4 Spectrals and Forge-Tenders, so I don't really see why you'd play any differently against Kithkin or Tokens; with regards to you, they're pretty much the same deck.

by Finntroll on 2009-06-27 06:41 EDT

Bagina - Wouldn't Kitchen Finks or even Celestial Purge be better than Dragon's Claw if you're that worried about the red match up?

by bagina on 2009-06-27 06:41 EDT

tell me how many of the top 3 decks from this trial have 4 forgetenders. main or side ;)

by wilier on 2009-06-27 07:00 EDT

Nice top, from 6 months ago ;D

by TylerTMK on 2009-06-27 08:38 EDT

PG sucks :)

by ZW on 2009-06-27 14:38 EDT

Bagina, with dragon's claw in your board, you deserve to loose.

by bagina on 2009-06-27 15:41 EDT

how is mono red agro/burn going to remove dragons claw? i can think of lots of ways to remove finks with red. celestial purge will only rid me of one creature, which i can do anyways with my 4000 bounce spells.

vs mono red or r/b burn or something like that once i drop 1 or 2 claws its usually gg.

i also notice i draw my sb cards alot more often than i should. thx mws shuffler!

@dragons claw: underrated card, in the right deck. whoever suggested otherwise is going in a pile alongside craze, who told me body double was an awful 1-of in a rev deck when rev was first released.

@delicious: thx, glad u enjoy the deck. its my fav T2 rogue deck since i made a riddle of lightning deck with braid of fire, bogardan, gargadon, and chargelands.

a broodmate would be nice but if you draw it early thats one less boucne spell. bouncing is imperative for this deck to work. thats why theres no thoughtseize or nobles or birds, etc. i wantevery cascade rip to bounce or destroy a land.

by bagina on 2009-06-27 15:45 EDT

and for those of you thinking "bouncing is just buying yourself time", youre only partly correct. it also beefs my slithermuse draws, and sets up for identity crisis (my 2 finishers).

most decks play an assortment of cards with costing casts between 1-6. if i can keep them to 2 or 3 lands, they wont be casting anything i cant deal with. i can chump+sac, or bounce big creatures.

bouncing isnt always just buying yourself time either without thsoe cards i mentioned. boomerang t2 owns a t2 fertile ground. figure scoops to bounce, and so do lots of other cards.

try the deck!

by bagina on 2009-06-27 15:47 EDT

i should also mention this deck absolutely eats any slow decks. its virtually an autoscoop if ur playing more than 10-12 cipt lands.

by bagina on 2009-06-27 15:48 EDT

i also have anotehr version thats more lando and less bounce, but this list is much more consistent, even though most games take longer.

by JuStiCaR on 2009-06-27 16:21 EDT

Like to hear yourself talk much?

by LexW on 2009-06-27 16:26 EDT

Bagina, do you not understand - THERE IS NO MONO RED OR BURN, no one plays those decks, they can't possibly beat tokens or kithkins, and neither can your deck.

Celestial purge at least deals with blossom, a card that beats your deck.

by bagina on 2009-06-27 16:44 EDT

ur right... bloodbraid, ram gang, incin, jav, blightning, anathemancer, demigod, etc. never see play. :\

by LexW on 2009-06-27 17:35 EDT

Well, Bloodbraid, Ramgang and anathemancer see play, but against those cards, its much better to have celestial purge, as purge also kills putrid leech.

No one plays mono red decks, there are jund decks, against which dragon's claw is like gain 2 to 5 life. Finks gains 4 life most of the time, but it also blocks.

by bagina on 2009-06-27 19:19 EDT

dont forget theres 8 red spells MD in my list. i gain more than 2-5 per claw, and the effects are cumulative. with 2 in play, incin only deals 1 damage, ram gang only gets me for 1 before i untap and bounce.

im not saying finks is a bad choice, im sure its personal preference. the kind of decks id be siding it in for dont often have ways to remove it, and thats why i use it.

by LexW on 2009-06-27 22:30 EDT

Yeah, bounce ram gang so they play it again?

Don't forget no one plays incinerate lol.

by bagina on 2009-06-27 23:24 EDT

play dragons claw, he plays ram gang, gain a life, bounce it, next turn same thing. 2 life ahead and he hasnt successfully stuck a spell to the board. dont critique the deck unless you know how it works. thanks!

by LexW on 2009-06-28 00:13 EDT

Okay, so instead of killing the ram gang and gaining 2 life with finks, you gained 2 life, wasted a bounce spell and he's attack for 3 each turn?

by bagina on 2009-06-28 04:23 EDT

assuming i play a t2 claw and t3 bounce he attacks for 0 and i get 1 land ahead. then on turn 4 he plays ram gang and i bounce. his board stays empty and i get to lay another land next turn, and the turn after. until i can primal or deny reality.

try the deck before u critique how it works and which card choices are better.

everyone whos played vs the deck has said they loved it, or autoquit after a boomerang and a rain of tears.

its a different deck, and you really cant comprehend how it works until youve tested it.

by bagina on 2009-06-28 04:24 EDT

i just saw ur rated 1593. sorry i even bothered.

by LexW on 2009-06-28 13:55 EDT

Really? Is that a joke? I've played like 7 matches here and I'm 3-4. Your deck is really bad, I'm just trying to help so you don't bomb out at a PTQ.

by pG on 2009-06-29 03:00 EDT
