WTF is this?

Tokens and Elfball are back?

Gj Mirandinha <333

by Pablo86 on 2009-06-07 16:38 EDT

oh damn! how is it possible that elfball wins??

by Lynolf on 2009-06-07 17:49 EDT

Let me reformulate your last statement:

"Oh damn! How is it possible that SHITTY Elfball deck won?"

Primal Command instead of Overrun? Regal Force without Elvish Promenade? I can even understand Dauntless Escort, but seriously, without those two cards, that deck can't be called Elfball. It should be called LuckSackBall...

And I mean seriously.

by Preslo18 on 2009-06-07 18:18 EDT

Lynolf, that has to be one of the most ridiculous things my eyes have ever been forced to read.

by NoNFuture on 2009-06-07 18:20 EDT

Lynolf...If you don't know how the deck wins... shut up Shhhhh. Please :D

Elvish Promenade is a bad card :S... ¿"lol"...?

"Yes", this's Elf Combo.

Do you prefer call to the deck LuckyStarElf? This is a very good name...

by Lynolf on 2009-06-07 18:22 EDT

Did you lose to him? Then explain to me how did you lose? Because the only way I can see him winning is with a single Mirror Entity, that dies to, say, everything...

I'm really surprised to how Lunari lost with 4 Zealous Persecutions and 3 Wrath of God in his deck.

P.S.: You weren't forced to read anything. You read that because you wanted to. gg? :D

by NoNFuture on 2009-06-07 18:31 EDT

I can play Primmal command mmm, 6-7 times = 0 lands for my opp ... :O

You don't know how win the deck :(.

MMM, I play Ranger of Eos.... Cloudthresher...

I know how to play the deck, I played some 100 games/match ....

by rgallardo on 2009-06-07 18:38 EDT

How you play command like 6-7 times?

I don´t understand the combo of the deck, it seems to be nice, can you explain?

by asamodious on 2009-06-07 18:40 EDT

Lynolf - stop being effing retarded, seriously. Its cramping my style.

The deck goes infinite, all you need is heritage and 2 nettles. You use Ranger of Eos(or just draw them) to get heritage druid and nettle sentinels. You generate alot of mana. Then you play primal command(search(regal force) + bounce land) or just cast regal force. And then after that, you will have enough elves to cast the next regal or primal. You draw your whole deck, then start looping peimal commands (to do this, you DO NOT play an visionaries, or u have to hope they cant stop you.). You bounce all their lands back (bounce + shuffling) and swing for the win the next turn.

This can be done on turn 4, but more reliably on turn 5.

The problem is volcanic fallout and jund charm wreck this deck. Hence the BFT in the sideboard and the escorts.

by Lynolf on 2009-06-07 19:03 EDT

I see now. But I'm still astonished to how did Lunari lose with so many weapons to destroy that deck.
I have to give props to NoNFuture for his innovative and, lets say, interesting deck. But I still think the deck sucks ass. All it takes is not to get Primal Command on hand, or cast Zealous Persecution/Wrath of God/Volcanic Fallout/Jund Charm, and the deck goes all way down.

Wilier: to reveal for Wren's Run Vanquisher.

by RavensEffect on 2009-06-07 19:19 EDT

How have you not seen that deck before? Its not anything new, or NonFuture's, its been around for awhile, just not used alot because of how easily it can be disrupted.

by Nameless1 on 2009-06-07 19:21 EDT

HIS innovative deck? That deck is long know, even in Constructed. Seems that you guys dont check starcity premium. It looks to me exactly like that comboelves deck from that premium article. Just some minor changes, that's all. Still i think that that deck can be really solid and is in the position to recover easily after massremoval. A friend of mine played it in the quarterfinals of a PTQ and won a game vs boat brew after 4 wraths from the opp...
Besides : Tokens should be a bye for that deck.

by RavensEffect on 2009-06-07 19:53 EDT

Didn't I just say that, but in a lot less words? =P

by Verystrait42 on 2009-06-07 20:32 EDT

Seems like an auto loss to swans...

by ik on 2009-06-07 20:38 EDT

Seems like he should be playing black for thoughtseize like the pros ^^

by caesarthehun on 2009-06-08 00:20 EDT

autoloss to swans? swans takes just as long to "combo off", can be screwed over by primal commands, and can't really spare the lands to hit critters....plz explain?

by dv8r on 2009-06-08 03:04 EDT

umm, his comment seems fine to me. swans can easily spare 3-4 lands to hit your heritage druids, and is a full turn faster than elves.

by Super_Prep on 2009-06-08 04:04 EDT

Thats a very nice deck, GJ NoNFuture! Who is this Lynolf retard? Has he not noticed mass removal has very little effect on the winning deck? Swans did'nt top 4 this time, and why I have no idea, maybe its not all that great.

by Lynolf on 2009-06-08 05:31 EDT

Sorry, sorry, its the first time I've seen the deck here. My bad. :P

Mind_Game: Please explain why does mass removal have little effect on this deck that's based around creatures that die to everything. And Swans is that good. It doesn't win as much now because everyone now has the proper cards to take them down and the deck is played less often. If you don't even know this, you can't call other people retards. It makes you lose all reason IF you ever had any.

by Wichtelman on 2009-06-08 05:54 EDT

NONfuture won vs me in round 3 cuz of
connection problems on my side
otherwise i would have eat him alive! :-P

by Super_Prep on 2009-06-08 07:03 EDT

Um, Lynolf Mass Removal is not going work on GW period. They've got Escort, Burrenton, and Teeg, lets not forget about Gutteral, Revilark, and various other cards. I recently nailed 4 swan decks in a row. They aren't all that great at all. Plus sorry about what I said, sometimes I'm in a bad mood, anyways I've been depressed. I lost in the trial to some loser who enjoys slapping 8 copies of Glen Elendra Archmage on the table constantly... and well my fallouts/wraths didn't do much... Plus now I wish I had packed some Everlasting Torments. Anyways NoNFuture's deck was brillant.

by RavensEffect on 2009-06-08 08:30 EDT

NoNFuture's deck is the same Combo Elf that got top 8 in a recent GP, except a few changes, so its not his invention. And also, if you take a look at his list, he doesn't play Gaddock Teeg or Reveillark, and only has 3 Dauntless Escort and 1 Burrenton main, so in fact he does lose to mass removal sometimes, just not every time. And just because it won a trial here doesn't mean its nearly as good as Swans is.

by asamodious on 2009-06-08 08:35 EDT

Lynolf -

Dauntless escort...

You should really read that card. That is how this deck beats every card you mentioned. Not only that, but the only ones that really matter are fallout and jund charm (both of which are answered by Entity(x = 3 omgs)and BFT + 4 more sideboard slots). All the other spells are not instants, and therefor they dont matter, as you just bounced 6-7 lands. Zealous is the main problem out of the cards you listed, which isnt easily handled. But against decks with Zealous, You wait for them to tap out (if they are silly and tap out for like cloudgoat ranger (alot of people will, not knowing the deck), but if they dont you primal command for entity and use x=2 or greater.

Also - none of them matter due to the simple fact that you dont cast the important spells til you can cast Heritage druid + 2x nettles in the same turn. At that point you start comboing (leaving them with no lands!)

by asamodious on 2009-06-08 08:43 EDT

Also, anyone that plays Heritage druid vs a deck that can kill it (swans in this example), isnt play the deck to its fullest.

Usually when i play vs swans with elfball I dont cast any Druids or Sentinels until im ready to combo that turn.

So, if they have Assault in play the turn u wish to combo, You have to primal the assault first.

Stopping them from winning is a completely different thing, you cant do anything about that.

My list has a much better matchup vs swans tho (i changed my list to my local metagame which has 3 combo swans players + 1 UR control swans player)

I run 2 thoughtseize/1 pithing needle MD and the others in the SB.

by mtgsoldier on 2009-06-08 08:58 EDT

elfball wining....hummmm.... maybe im not the only one who conceds the game when mws is lagging, others like me played vs elfball

by TugaChampion on 2009-06-08 09:05 EDT

Even more weird than elfball winning it's people actually thinking Mind_Game and RavensEffect have anything good to say. Don't listen to those guys they're probably the 2 worst players here. They should play each other a turbo fog mirror, no time limit. The loser gets the title of "dumbass of the year".

by Super_Prep on 2009-06-08 09:26 EDT

Speaking of anything good to say, what you just said is practically worthless. I never heard anyone say "dumbass of the year" on m-l, but it sure fits you just right. Congrads TagaChumpion, I want to see you and Flaxh get married, I'll be at your big gay wedding. LOL :D

by Lynolf on 2009-06-08 09:43 EDT

Asamodius: You're forgetting that he has 3 Dauntless Escort and 1 Mirror Entity in his deck, that cost him mana to play, and, like I said before, die to everything. A single Terminate/Maelstrom Pulse/Magma Spray/any card that destroys creatures on a Heritage Druid or on a Nettle Sentinel slows the deck down. By the time he can settle up again, the game is over.

The only explanation for the deck to win is either players got unlucky or they spent their destruction cards on the wrong creatures, which is perfectly normal since its a deck that's barely seen around.

N-Miranda rulles big!!!

by RavensEffect on 2009-06-08 09:48 EDT

Does he ever have anything important actually to say, Mind_Game? He just comes on here flaming people like a complete moron and thinks he is hilarious. Or he'll join the chatroom 2 hours after the master/trial has started and say he could have won it, just spare us.

by N-Miranda on 2009-06-08 12:23 EDT

I lost to NoNFuture and his good draws, yet I made some misplays as well. But elfball it is not viable in t2 since it loses to faes way too much...

by ZW on 2009-06-08 16:07 EDT

Yeah, elfball sucks versus faeries.

by Super_Prep on 2009-06-08 16:21 EDT

Bleh...

Alright alright, I give up, deleted the comment. I don't like getting flamed. When I wrote that comment I didn't think about the others living there. =(

by StarWizard on 2009-06-09 13:46 EDT

Nice THIRTEEN elf count in the 3C Blood deck with Vanquishers.

LuckSackBall, LuckSackBlood... is there a normal deck in this top8?
