First of all:
Worsest Hypergenesis.deck ever. Pile of Crap. The one who is playing it... is probably the biggest noob around

DL'ed it 5 minutes before tourney. Hadn't played Extended in months but heard some locals talking about the deck, so I wanted to play it once =]

test broodbraid elf over ranger of eos, trust me

(Looking over the Zoo list)

What does this deck...do?

Your early game is less than most zoo decks, and your mid game is easily thwarted by any other aggro deck. What in the format makes Dauntless Escourt main deck-able? Only 2 jittes? I agree with ryuzaki, bloodbraid elf is totally the way to go. Bloodbraid into wolly thoctar in this particular format is pretty devastating, And I even think Violent Outburst could be worth a test as well, as it could act as a 3 mana 3 damage spell against no-blockers and could net you another guy. I think the all 1-drop version is probably not the optimal one right now. I'm probably wrong as I suck at magic, but i think it warrants a look at.

4 threads ftw

8 Legends in the Faeries list doesn't warrant running Minamo?

And don't people usually run Minamo + Oboro as Choke/Boil protection anyway?

Peluca is insane

by dv8r on 2009-06-04 12:37 EST

for the record, I think P_P4E is completely wrong when he says that the 1 drop version isn't the optimal one. firstly, it's faster, which is key vs teps, as it lets you win without cannonist sometimes. secondly, it's better in the mirror where tempo means everything. cascade into thoctar may be nice, but it's often far too late, especially on the draw. this means that for now (until the fetchlands rotate out and nacatl becomes much worse), ranger is better, because elf will typically cascade into a (random) 1 drop, whereas ranger gives you tutoring, more card advantage, and doesn't require you to warp your deck as much.

LoL my bad Hypergenesis Version in the Top 3 again :D

But atleast it wins the Mirror against the Shroud Version as i got to know in Round 2 :/

by CalebD on 2009-06-04 13:56 EST

That's a really good Fae list.

Oboro and such weaken the deck against blood moon effects, which are infinitely more prominent now than boil.

The Zoo list is the one that Tomoharu Saito used to win the GP, i just quit one land (23 seems too much) and a Jitte (with 2 is enough), to input Dauntless Escort.

Why? I've been critizised for this, but... ARB came out after GP, so Saito couldn't test this. I know that WoG/Damnation/EE/Firespout deals too much damage to the list, and Dauntless avoid that. I have to say, in 6 rounds i only saw it in one round, and it died chumblocking.

Btw, the Zoo list is called Super Naya, and for my opinion, is the best list of aggro. With his 4 main Canonist, TEPS & Elves & HyperDeck aren't so difficult as before (Teps and HyperDeck won Naya 80% of times the first match). Also... Bloodbraid? Looks nice, but... For T2. Here we've got better the Ranger, searching for a Nacatl/Ape/Mogg when u REALLY could need them.

I played one round, in quarter of finals, agains a mirror, more or less... It was a Naya Burn. I play more creatures, and he more bolts. But my creatures are bigger (Reliquary is ALWAYS bigger than a "weak" Thoctar). I won 2-1 that round.

Super Naya is a great option for extended, having his only trouble in Faes (even when u are staller at 1 land 3 turns...). I was very happy of choose this deck, and i know it will work, as the results says.

I think, next time, i will quit my Tarmos against faes, so he has to eat his/her Threads xDD (coming inside Elspeth, Grudge, Oblivion).

And, Fire Whip... A great tech against Elves, incredible how it works xD.

Go Go Go Super Naya & Go Go Go Asturias Magic!

P.D. Navajita, sos PRO, sabelo!
