Duodax on 2009-04-26 16:08 EST 1st. Lost to Zoo with Zoo -_- by Pikanso on 2009-04-26 16:36 EST Why name deck is PLU is no NLB ? by Eldariel on 2009-04-26 17:04 EST It's Previous Level Blue - Next Level Blue was the deck with Counterbalance, PLU eschewing it for traditional counters, so all the blue Goyf-decks presently in the format are PLU. As for "NLB", that's not used just because it's not Next Level Black. by hawt on 2009-04-26 17:48 EST zoo < doran -=-0 by LinkSpitfire on 2009-04-26 19:24 EST Did anyone see/play with any ARB-cards? by trueeevil on 2009-04-26 20:10 EST zoo needs more bloodbraid elf by Eldar on 2009-04-26 21:15 EST That version is Next Level Blue (NLU) because it doesn't run more counterspells and such. The Previous Level Blue decks ran 16+ counters primarily killed with shackles/goyf only. by Verdana on 2009-04-26 21:42 EST the main difference between PLU and NLU was no counterbalance vs counterbalance. so NLU doesn't exist in extended anymore. by Beto_cL on 2009-04-26 22:22 EST brayan :O by Spyx on 2009-04-26 23:26 EST Bloodbraid elf seems better then ranger in the midgame, but worse in the lategame (when you can cast those 2 nacatls right away).
by Lethe on 2009-04-27 09:31 EST Wasn't the difference last season that PLU ran spire golem and fact or fiction while NLU ran visions and splashed green/black for goyf, rude awakening and tsabo's decree? Countertop was a different deck entirely, iirc, embodied best as chase rare control.
by Comodope on 2009-04-27 12:54 EST I played Bloodbraid Elf instead of Ranger of Eos, but it sucked
by Eldariel on 2009-04-27 15:21 EST Lethe: No. Next Level Blue was Chapin's "innovation" on Counterbalance + Tarmogoyf-based effective "chase rare control". Then, "Previous Level Blue" was the moniker given to Counterbalanceless variants opting for more actual counters that premiered in the next GP/PT (can't remember).
by Lethe on 2009-04-27 15:54 EST Oh ok, thanks for the clarification, especially regarding Baseruption, which I was never quite sure on. |
