by malience on 2009-01-16 11:20 EDT

what a top four... needs to be fixed... so everyone what deck to take to kyoto?

by SeTZeR on 2009-01-16 11:38 EDT

I will still improving my 5C Mistveil control, yesterday work nice, but it could work better ;)

P.S.: my first top and lost to Gorkita, nice to see that he won the trial ;)

by gorkita on 2009-01-16 12:10 EDT

Thanks!!

by Dakkon555 on 2009-01-16 13:04 EDT

that five color control list makes me want to kick babies :(

by ik on 2009-01-16 17:59 EDT

Omfg... Elvish Piper for the fucking win...

by TugaChampion on 2009-01-16 18:32 EDT

So if someone Unmakes Oona that 5c Control can only win after cycling all 4 resonding thunder. Nice!

Naya isn't an aggro deck. It's aggro-control. It's aggro against 5c and faeries but against most of the field it's control. Shield of the Oversoul and Elvish Piper should obv be dropped for more Ajani, Garruk and Figure.

by cbgirardo on 2009-01-16 18:40 EDT

Actually, the 5c control can cycle an infinite number of resounding thunders.

by Trotsky1 on 2009-01-16 18:56 EDT

Unless Im missing something that is after board and such a slow approach that unless your 1-0 its irrelevant.

However most of the time when the deck draws oona and even when it does not it can wait until it has enough mana available that onna can produce more win conditions. That would be if the deck was playing enough lands in the first place 25 land in 5cc control is no where near enough.

by str8 on 2009-01-16 20:02 EDT

its mistveil control, sort of like martyr ddeck that keeps getting things back. :/
keeps getting things back.

by aldaryn on 2009-01-16 20:05 EDT

should play a beacon of destruction as a mise

by Shyft- on 2009-01-16 20:12 EDT

Trotsky: Yes, you're missing something. He has Mistveil Plains (MVP) maindeck. He can just recycle things with MVP all day long once enough Halos and ORings and Stinky Circles are out.

by TugaChampion on 2009-01-16 20:37 EDT

I have no idea how the hell that deck can win vs faeries. And even against kithkins it's pretty easy to just draw (although in trials you win by the life rule) but if you lose the first game you're just doomed. I hate playing decks like that. When I played Martyr in T2 it was because there wasn't a single deck that convinced me and I played blue and had several winning conditions: 4 chroniclers, 1 chronosavant, 1 crovax and 2 sacred mesa.

by SilverMcHowl on 2009-01-17 03:49 EDT

Hawt, thank you!! Ik, I'm glad someone else sees its worth. Tuga, your right, it is aggro control. However, Elvish Piper is too valuable to drop. Though... I may move shield to sideboard for more Ajani. It's a valuable card against wraths though. It's saved me too many times to just be tossed out.

by ik on 2009-01-17 05:20 EDT

seriously though...piper+shield seems quite nuts

by SeTZeR on 2009-01-17 10:33 EDT

@ Trotsky1: Yes, the deck is build to win 1-0, you usually wins after 30 or 35 minutes, son on game 2 you only have to wait to times run out... Weeks ago I run Painter Servant + Chaotic Backslash to win if you lose game 1.

@ TugaChampion: The deck just wins against faeries just playing as normal, oring to Bblossom, runing mitsbind, mutavault and story circle to black ;)

Always nice to see new decks in top4.
