How DO those BGx decks keep winning here and losing everywhere else?

by Lantero on 2008-12-16 02:45 CET

It's not a really good deck by itself, but if u adapt it to the right meta (elves, zoo, and fae), it can work well.

by curly on 2008-12-16 02:46 CET

Because magic-league is bad
Like no bosiju and it winz against mno U???

Or maby there are jsut masters...??

by Christopholo on 2008-12-16 02:56 CET

Pretty sure that a BG Cloud deck went undefeated during the extended portion of Worlds this last weekend..

by trueeevil on 2008-12-16 03:23 CET

dredge is the best deck in ext.

by DH on 2008-12-16 06:52 CET

I agree. :)

by Arch on 2008-12-16 07:54 CET

The Boils in the sideboard probably had a lot to do with how the Death Cloud deck won. End step Boil, untap Death Cloud seems like it'd resolve somehow.

Nice one DH!!

by Tewl on 2008-12-16 10:18 CET

Did you think of Fulminator Mage as more sb disruption in Cloud vs. the combo and control decks. Liptide lab is a good target.

by DH on 2008-12-16 12:13 CET

So is Academy Ruins. But why not play some basics, fetches, and Blood Moon then?

I never played Cloud, but your goal is to use discard and beat with Goyf, Baloth or Beasts from Garruk, right?

Thanks, Tink! Join my team if you will! And if someone wishes to join my team PM me when you see me online!

by Lantero on 2008-12-16 14:09 CET

Fulminator by itself is bad in extended, and blood moon is inviable with all double costs.

The deck is not focused to beat combo (i mean storm; vs the other combo decks u allways have more tricks than lonely thoughtseizes). In fact, it loses very easily vs Storm and Loam-control based decks, but i think those decks aren't rather good to do something in this format. This is just a metagame deck.

by Thursdayisgo on 2008-12-16 16:35 CET

Dredge is far from the best deck, only 30% of the Dredge players went 4-2 or better (one of the worst results).

Deathcloud probably wins on mleague but not in real life because it's a pretty strait-forward strategy that wont lose to random rogue decks and isn't too bad against tier 1 or 1.5 archetypes.

by quicks1lver on 2008-12-16 16:49 CET

"dredge is the best deck in ext." until people learn to side tormod's crypt or relic of progenitus against it for their 0 or 1 casting costs and completely derail it.

by dragonprince on 2008-12-16 17:26 CET

Gratz Axo!! U´re the best!

by Thursdayisgo on 2008-12-17 01:26 CET

haha, who would waste sb slots on an already good dredge matchup?

by DH on 2008-12-17 21:01 CET

Double Relic can be won through with the right plays.

There is Needle after all :)

And as far as DC goes, in my experience, the Rockesque decks should go aggro vs the combo decks, as the combo player IS expecting discard, but the clock is much more important, not the disruption itself.
