congratz Shooter \o/

Astekas >>> ALL

by aldaryn on 2008-11-20 02:17 CET

mox seems bad in boros, can you really afford to pitch cards?

by sandoiche on 2008-11-20 02:39 CET

this boros deck is terribly bad lol

by Lantero on 2008-11-20 03:18 CET

Good Job christopholo! :)

gratz JAMES BROWN!!!

by aldaryn on 2008-11-20 04:16 CET

I wouldn't call Boros TERRIBLE, since being able to play an aggro deck with Moon effects can be quite good. But he forgot about Jotun Grunt. That guy was Goyf before Goyf, and he shrinks opposing Goyfs for you. Duergar Hedge-Mage SB would also be nice.

by Christopholo on 2008-11-20 05:25 CET

thx Lantero :D

@ aldaryn and skatista - yea hedge-mage was really good today

by SkaTista on 2008-11-20 11:33 CET

Boros is bad with any card and of any way. ;/

by Hank333 on 2008-11-20 14:03 CET

Tarmogoyf killed boros. Its like, why play boros when you can splash green and play Kird Ape and Tarmogoyf. They make the deck strictly better. It use to be a good stradegy to play a bunch of pro red guys, but now Tarmogoyf just stomps Silver knight in the 2 drop spot.

by center on 2008-11-20 14:47 CET

who did you lose to shooter?

by Shooter on 2008-11-20 14:53 CET

zoo

by beanbungo on 2008-11-20 15:13 CET

hey Cookie what did u lose to using the Martyr/Proclomation deck, seems like it would be good since there is not too much (still some) graveyard hate since dredge has been outdated...

by Shindeiru on 2008-11-20 15:17 CET

Cookie lost to fae.

Congratz Skatista and Shooter.

btw Brazil 6-2 Portugal = humiliation.

:D gogogo Luis Fabiano!

by Conkisstador on 2008-11-20 18:01 CET

why isn't chrome mox a 3-of in elves? go to 15 lands and make 1 cut for it seems really good. easier to combo out for sure

by Cookie on 2008-11-20 18:44 CET

yeah i faced my worst mu. since it is something like 95/5 i couldn't do better. :\

by diablo2666 on 2008-11-20 22:23 CET

my white weenie is better than boros :D its more consietens, doesnt lose to random demigods and so on and in aggro mus u dont pay so much life, i odnt like a red splash jsut for magus and helix, stifle has also targets now...

by asamodious on 2008-11-20 23:10 CET

it doesnt play chrome mox cause u can just play mana elves t1 and go off t2 or t3. By time u get ready to combo off, youd rather have another dude to play from hand then getting the extra green mana.

Obv, Spain is the best Football team now.

PD: Seems like Jitte is again one of the most important cards of the format.

by boeda on 2008-11-21 00:24 CET

Good job SkaTista, it's pretty cool to see the decklist I won my first tourney with make top 4!

@Aldaryn: You are right, I now play 2 Jotun Grunts instead of a Silver Knight and a Figure of Destiny and they are great. I think its still a 2 off, you dont want 2 in your opening hand.

by GUnit on 2008-11-21 02:14 CET

I'd say 3 grunts...

But, as said above, it seems strange playing aggro w/o goyf in this format.

by Cosmo on 2008-11-21 03:38 CET

@Lantero: you wish ;-)

by Trotsky1 on 2008-11-21 13:03 CET

I did something similar to that with a porn star

by asamodious on 2008-11-21 13:24 CET

Me and a teammate played Tezz and both lost to the same goblin list using the PT T8 list. Guess i need to add some Pyroclasm to the board!

by tcook589 on 2008-11-21 15:29 CET

Tezz should have 4 firespout sb already.

by Markwerf on 2008-11-21 17:12 CET

Why do the zoo lists play jund charm and pyroclasm as their hate for elves when they can play slice and dice?? Pyroclasm kills your own canonists and scullers and only kills nettle sentinel more. Id rather keep my own canonist/sculler and leave their sentinel then kill both. For jund charm its the same thing, but that actually costs the same as slice and dice and is much harder to cast (drawing the hallowed fountain or plains makes it hard). THe other modes off jund charm are hardly ever relevant unless the new dredge shows up in big numbers.
Slice and dice cantrips and is uncounterable which makes it fairly good against faeries too to kill their cliques/sprite's without losing a card. Its even better if they play the bitterblossom version of faerie

by Lantero on 2008-11-21 19:19 CET

You are right. Slice and dice is strictly better than jund charm in actual metagame, even if u play it in a control deck. Pyroclasm is a point different because of speed, but in zoo, as u said, obv u dont want to kill your own scullers and ethersworns.

by [BRAYAN] on 2008-11-21 21:27 CET

duergar hedge-mage good sb christopholo :)
