by Finntroll on 2008-07-13 18:06 MDT

in the sea-stompy/gro deck, was Taurean Mauler ever considered? If he was, why didn't he work out?

Just wondering, since he seems like he'd be better than pestermite.

by [BRAYAN] on 2008-07-13 19:48 MDT

It is meta sucks!

by Stucco on 2008-07-13 20:20 MDT

Cheers to #2 for balancing his mana enough to run 3 colors, Javeline and Clique, while still grabbing enough snow lands to make skred worth 4 spots.

just try something new there :-P
but godhead is still THE BEST! :D

by Burton911 on 2008-07-14 01:56 MDT

Can anyone explain me why this Deck is still called WW?

Has nobody came up with a Deckname yet?

by Wichtelman on 2008-07-14 02:14 MDT

Wichtelman´s worlds most wicked white weenie !
the name doesnt really matter just look @ master ronnan got second with my list there
as volrath said its an advantage that nobody knows how to play against that

by Burton911 on 2008-07-14 03:51 MDT

I know that ronnan got T8 in the Master with it, and i know that this deck isnt bad (expect when i play it oO ) but its no WW anymore its almost a Midrange Deck or something beetween Aggro and Mid range.

But yeah in the end the name isnt worth an argument XD

by gypsy on 2008-07-14 04:35 MDT

how is it not white weenie? does it play guys and attack?

by sgtpepper87 on 2008-07-14 06:22 MDT

well it's just, the guys aren't that ... weenie

by gypsy on 2008-07-14 06:31 MDT

paladin, crusader, knight, priest... those arent weenies? 4 lark 2 crovax those are the only non weenies

by ZW on 2008-07-14 07:56 MDT

The third place deck should definentally play rule of law side, because storm is a horrible matchup and rule owns storm.

by Vedrfolner on 2008-07-14 08:08 MDT

Crusader is a weenie in size, but not in cost. I think there aren't enough 2-drops in that deck. Certainly many powerful creatures, though.

by gypsy on 2008-07-14 09:28 MDT

storm sucks why would u sb agaisnt it

by Wichtelman on 2008-07-14 09:33 MDT

keep in mind there should be godhead inside
then there are a lot of synergies
it really doesnt need more 2 drops

by ZW on 2008-07-14 11:28 MDT

by gypsy on 2008-07-14 11:28 EDT

storm sucks why would u sb agaisnt it

1. It's a solid deck, seeing as it came in 2nd at a GP.

2. It is played alot.

3. It is almost an impossible matchup for the white deck you idiot.

by Conkisstador on 2008-07-14 12:02 MDT

storm sucks why would u sb against it

1. combo is a hit/miss archetype. seeing as it came in 2nd me must assume that it got lucky (hit) in the tough matchups.

2. it is played less than other decks.

3. storm can get unlucky (miss). that's never a bad matchup ideal.

by Othar on 2008-07-14 12:43 MDT

That Sea Stompy list looks really great. I'll have to test it.

by ZW on 2008-07-14 12:49 MDT

There was just as much elves as swath and he devotes 4 sunlance for elves. There was just as much lark as swath and he spends 4 slots on jester's cap. Elves is a winnable matchup without sunlance. Storm is impossible. They don't miss vs. you because you don't have much early pressure as its a midrange deck so they have plenty of time to build.

by Psyckorid on 2008-07-14 13:22 MDT

What exactly are the jester's scepters for in the WW deck sb? and what did you take out for it?

by Ronnan on 2008-07-14 15:01 MDT

cap was there from the beginning vs all sort of control

by gypsy on 2008-07-14 17:05 MDT

ZW storm really isnt that good. just because it was playing in a trial a bunch doesnt mean its good. the guy got very lucky to get 2nd as no one knew how to play vs his deck properly and he drew very well. how is jesters scepter not good vs storm? u can just counter their swath or smt, then if they play empty the warrens you can play crovax. if the white deck goes soltari priest into a warhammer not much storm can do about that.

by ChristPunchr on 2008-07-14 17:15 MDT

I am totally thrilled to see a neat deck like that grow deck place. Kind of a shame that black/red didn't show up again, but that grow deck looks pretty neat. The manabase is either really polished or just sort of thrown together with a bit of math...I am kind of curious to read up on whether it works nice and consistently or if its graphics need to be tightened up a bit.

by ZW on 2008-07-14 18:02 MDT

LMAO yea counter their swath or smthg...In other words make them tap one mana, which does shit. And soltari priest and warhammer get online turn 4 and gain 5 life. When storm goes off with grapeshot and swath they usually do 30 +.

by Lantero on 2008-07-14 18:53 MDT

Storm is not played like a tier 1. Also it's a bit unstable. If u have an horrible pair vs it, don´t spend 4 slots of your side only for improve an horrible pair into a decent pair, and dont have the chance to side them vs other decks.

by gypsy on 2008-07-14 18:54 MDT

you play like they always go off easily which is not the case, please play the deck before you make comments that you have no clue about how the deck is. the deck is so hard to win with if you dont draw a grapeshot and there isnt many library manipulation in the deck to dig for it

by MitchMachine on 2008-07-14 19:26 MDT

did the reveillarks worked out? or is 4 overkill

by ZW on 2008-07-14 19:41 MDT

I have played the deck, probably alot more than you have. The reason its good vs. that white deck is because of how incredibly slow the deck is. It is easier than red green ramp, because ramp has big life gain and chameleon, so they can attempt to race you.

by gypsy on 2008-07-14 20:52 MDT

so what that doesnt mean you have to sb vs a deck that takes up a small part of the metagame if any. storm just isnt that solid.

by Lantero on 2008-07-14 21:41 MDT

T2 > Dragonstorm's shadow

by Flips on 2008-07-15 14:15 MDT

I agree storm is probably the worst deck in T2. Relying on pure luck, drawing a lotus in every hand with a grapeshot or warrens is kinda hard to do. Gypsy is right, the deck probably goes off about 25 to 30 percent of the time. Which is horrible because when it doesn't go off it sucks balls. What are you going to do grape shot me for 3 lol. I wish everyone would play storm so I could win every trial.
